Quick poll chaps/ladies:
1. Do you have a gut feel?
2. Do you trust it?
3. How often do you go along with it?
4. How often do you go against it to appease someone else?

Tough one this
My gut feel effects my daily life and though it can be right often it's wrong and I wish sometimes I could hold back instead of going with it gusto to realise afterwards I've made a mistake xx

1/ yes 2/unless its about wether to trust another person, no 3/apart from the above exception, sometimes 4/not aware of ever doing that consciously but will often do things that I don't nesseceraly agree with to appease someone I love.
Shouldn't you answer ur questions? :-)

I was trying not to influence it that's all I started this thread because someone told me they didn't have a gut feel which sounded bizarre to me. Just wondered how many people feel like this because I don't know what I would do without my 'gut'

I wonder if the gut thing is just the impulsive side of me trying to take over actually

Yeah, that's why apart from the trusting people thing, which is almost always right, I often end up not thinking at all and just diving in and then thinking "whoops!", later. I usually find anything I feel very strongly I want to do urgently, is in hindsight in need of at the very least in need of some tweaking. That's soooo boring though, so I often, probably wrongly, reward myself for previous moments of self control, with giving into myself on the next thing .

;D still don't get it - never mind anyhow - 1 yes very often 2 nearly always 3 most of time 4 not so much nowdays usually depend on where my heads at and how stressed i am - a lot more when i was younger. alcohol and drugs destroyed it for me for many years as ended up not knowing difference between paranoya and my gut and then took long time to come back even after stopping everything - sorry - you prob didn't want such a detailed answer. I went to a spiritualist church many years ago and when was there they reckoned i had 'the gift' and wanted me to start attending medium training classes!!!!! Can you imagine !!!! i have enough problems getting on with people in this bloody world - never mind having the dead on at me as well!!!

1: Yes 2: Mostly 3: Most of the time 4: Rarely - I will only go against my 'gut feel' for someone who I love / care about / trust

Quick poll chaps/ladies: 1. Do you have a gut feel? Yep2. Do you trust it? often3. How often do you go along with it? often4. How often do you go against it to appease someone else? rarely, but that's complicated. I mean what does appease mean really? If my gut feel, for example, was that someone shouldn't do something and doing it would be really disastrous, how could I stop myself. I guess I have to really force myself to not interrupt, but i don't think i'm that impulsive and manage to listen to interesting people easily.

I suppose knowing something is going to fail but realising someone is pinning hopes and dreams on it.

Quick poll chaps/ladies: 1. Do you have a gut feel? 2. Do you trust it? 3. How often do you go along with it? 4. How often do you go against it to appease someone else? Yes Usually Usually I'm being constantly told I'm too trusting. I regret not talking about my ADD when I went for a nursing course interview a couple of weeks ago. I was asked "What recent learning experience have you had that would show you will make a good nursing student?" My heart sank because it's such a gift of a question for everything I've been learning about ADHD. Hubby and step mum had both told me not to. Partly because I go on about it so much when I start, partly because I'm renowned for digging myself holes, and partly because they were worried about how it might be perceived by the interviewer.
