Here's something a bit tangential A friend of mine (one of us) has been feeling sickly for a while with symptoms of vertigo with a side order of bleurgh. It wasn't going away so he went to see his GP - who diagnosed earwax! It's a easy fix - they can syringe it out and you can also DIY (please don't use cotton buds, you can cause damage to your eardrum and get infections - look up methods online). I'm not clear on how earwax can cause vertigo - the balance organs are in the ear but not directly exposed to earwax but enough people appear to get better after a good clear out to give it a go. The connection with ADHDers? Quote from the WIKI Fear, stress and anxiety result in increased production of earwax from the ceruminous glandsWith a lot of us having stress/anxiety issues it makes sense to take precautions to reduce any other source of problems. ADHD causing vertigo? Whatever next?

Interesting. I've never had vertigo, but I have a longstanding problem with excess earwax (less of a problem now than it used to be, fortunately). I was told my ear canals were unusually narrow, but perhaps that's not the only reason.

Ahhhh. One of my total obsessions in life is dirty, ears and nose. I try desperately to avoid the temptation to take sneaky peeks into other people's head holes because if I happen to see the smallest thing (bar a necessary amount of nasal hair), in there, my brain completely stops and the only thing it will think of is ways of removing the offending object! Thank God I now generally manage to control the aforementioned sneaky peek, apart from my children and nephews, who are too regularly inspected and dealt with. In the past I have looked like ( maybe accurately ), a complete loon as I loose the ability to speak or answer any questions, and my friends have been known to threaten their children with a visit from me if they don't blow there nose :-(.

I think that the wax can build up both sides of the ear drum otherwise why did I have grommet's? Grommets are to drain fluid from the middle ear if you have 'glue ear' (a build up of fluid to compensate for the partial vacuum that a dysfunctional Eustachian tube causes). It's not ear wax. Wax would not drain, it would block.

"(one of us)" Gooble gobble /obscure film reference I have terrible ear-wax, I could scoop a bucket out every day, but my nasal passages are worse. They are also quite narrow at the top (well one of them is *very* narrow) which means I have to wear nasal strips to sleep most of the time. I like to have my bedroom cold as that seems to help quite a bit. Don't have Hopi ear wax treatment - it's a total con.

Omg, that's totally weird! I have always had too much earwax. I also have problems with decoding speech (I HATE noisy pubs and restaurants!) so part of my obsessive ear cleaning is because I don't want blocked ear canals to compound the matter!

Interesting. On a slightly different but related tangent, I seem to remember that my mothers vertigo medication seemed to help her adhd.

There's a whole host of ear related problems in my family but I seem to have escaped them all, luckily.
