I often get asked,"how did you know that?" My reply is usually "I have no idea" Sound familiar? I have learnt over the years that i cannot learn deliberately, the harder i try the more impossible it gets. ...but if i'm not paying attention to something the information just seems to flow in of it's own accord... So i thought i'd try something...instead of playing music when i'm in the car i will be playing an audio book for a while, and i'll see how it goes I figure if i'm thinking about all the idiots that try and drive into me every day then i won't pay much heed to the book,so it should find it's way in somehow...and it's a book i've not read previously, that would defeat the object ;D ("The Art Of War",by Sun Tzu) Right...game on!

I've often found that I just 'know' something, or at least be able to figure something far faster than others.
For me, the main reason is that I have always known I have a crap memory, so when I learn something I tend to go all out and learn the fundamentals of what I'm trying to understand(back to first principles if necessary).
That way, when I forget the details of something, I usually have some kind of internal structure for new information to hang on to so when I'm in a jam about something I can usually work out what to do (rather than remember).
The more I've done this the more 'structure' there is in my mind which seems to help in other areas where the fundamentals are similar.
Does that make any sense at all?

I get all the above and if I ever remember might give Grimsby experiment a go myself.
The other thing I find is someone will say "do you know anything about x y and z?" I'll say no then they'll start explaining it and I'll be like, " oh yeah, I know that and how it happens cause of this if these things are going on. It's just I don't understand why this has that effect and that has this effect, when if you look at it from this, that and the other perspective, there should be multiple other more likely outcomes?" At that point the other person, usually a friend or family person luckily, either takes a deep breath and braces them self for the now inevitable inquisition or they look a lot less confident and mumble something about how they don't get it either. :-(

Something seems to be finding it's way in .I find myself "pondering" odd points from the book here and there, without knowingly having taken them onboard in the first place

I find this accidental learning crap happens to me. I think thats why people sound me out when they have a problem, always, despite my "social status". Can be anything, I can usually help. Unless its to do with me, then i'm shite. Answers usually flit to me when asked by others, then elude when required for personal use!! I always have to investigate "things" to death. Im hoping that neurofeedback "manipulation" will help. Im taking my youngest to trial it first to see if its worth it

In Tory terms, I is a pleb. But not a member of the constabulary!
