I may be a bit premature as only on third week of Medikinet now on 10mg 3 times a day but I don't think there going to work. I have not noticed any improvement in my concentration levels at all. While I'm at work I seem to be getting less done than I did before. My appetite is not too bad but the urge to drink has gone completely I always struggled to drink enough any way, and today I had to come home with a head ache, I have now decided I must carry a bottle of water around with me but my head ache still not gone. When I take the first dose in the morning I can feel a bit light headed and it doesn't happen on the other doses during the day. I have had a slight headache since I started but eating and drinking seem to keep it mild. -until today. I have been getting muscle cramps in my calves I am finding it hard to focus (literally my eyes) I am due to go on to a slow release med on Tuesday concerta i think he said. To be honest it feels like i have had a double espresso on an empty stomach making me think its stimulants that are not good for me, but it was great to be awake all day yesterday maybe I'm missing the extra sleep. I am worried that I am just stuck like this and should get used to it. I'll finish now because I'm getting annoyed that I can't get my point across as I'd like to

I went right up to 100 mg + of Mediknet and found the effect was barely there. I'm on Dex right now and am upping the dose to 45 mg a day. On 30 so far and it works fairly well on some symptoms. Certainly better than nothing.

thanks guys, its just that it feels like I can't eat enough food to maintain my blood sugar levels. I get light headed and shaky, keeping my water intake up has stopped the headaches.

Hi all,
Still on 10mg three times a day.
I told him that I had been feeling tired and unwell and a bit shaky and that I am getting headaches. yesterday and today these effects have been less though. He was surprised and said that most people have some kind of stomach pain, a rise in blood pressure and maybe palpitations and had to look in the BNF.
This made me feel quite stupid, am I imagining my symptoms?? it seemed as though no body else gets these effects.
He decides that I should have an ECG and a fasting glucose blood test, and that we will stay on this dose for a while longer to see how it goes.
He gives me forms for the test which you can get done at the walk in centre.so I have done those before I left, He did not seem concerned that I had not fasted though.
He has also decided that I should stop taking my Fluoxetine as both tablets cause dehydration. I have to call him about getting a prescription in a month, he may post it to me if I can get my blood pressure done at surgery. Then see him in 3 months.
So all in all no further on than yesterday. He did tell me not to get too disheartened as this is only one type of medication but what's the point of spending three months on the wrong meds.
huff !!

Sorry for you that you're not really any further along Curious as well - is it still not having any effect on adhd? And are you still feeling that it's making your concentration worse? Xx

You seem to have a very unadventurous doctor. Most stories I've read on here suggest they are happy to swap meds after just a few weeks if they don't seem to be helping. I would be tempted to insist on something else if you still feel the same in a week or two. Good luck. x

sorry to hear that dizzy i always feel intimidared by doctors - especially male ones - and don't articulate myself very well when i'm there even if i've made notes. wondering would it help if you were to take someone with you next time and chat about how your feeling before you go in so that they can prompt you if they or you feel that the doctors not listening or if they feel there's something your forgetting that you wanted to say. thats what i do with my daughter.

thanks guys, I take my husband with me but he just sits their and doesn't say a lot. He can't believe that a "pill" is going to help with my concentration at home. (He gets cross that he is constantly having to repeat himself) I feel too embarrassed to speak to my GP about it, and the psych seems more indecisive than I am. He has to check his book and has no answers as to why for me. Even my husband commented that he seems a bit useless, I haven't even been told what kind of ADD I have

Is there anyone else a bit more assertive who could come with you to either the psych or your GP? It seems like no one really understands your situation and no one is listening.
Is this psych supposed to be a specialist?

Awe thanks everyone and thanks for the offer of coming janev but I live in Rutland and attend clinic at Leicester. My boss is going to come with me next time she knows a different me to my hubby. I asked her if she thought I was any better and she said no worse she can see me starting to withdraw into myself which tend to do when I'm not happy, my overenthusiasm has gone but not in a calm collected way just a sad way I heard someone on here say they were going to keep a diary of moods so they can see if it matches their hormone cycle I think that sounds like a good idea so I am going to do the same. maybe that will give me a clue??

Just asked you how you were today on another thread - but read it here now That's so cool you have such a nice boss - and sounds like will be really helpful to have an objective outsider's perspective given - good luck

Hi dizzydee, I don't blame you - I often go back to bed. Just take a day at a time, and make sure you look after yourself and are kind to yourself. Don't expect too much of yourself just at the moment x x x

Am really glad you're finding your feet a bit. Is this the same dose you were on that you're starting to feel better with?
