:)and anyone read the big issue this week? there's interesting piece in there about 'the brain' says that mutterring aloud to yourself (which i know lots of us have admitted we do ) can do us good. one university wisconsin study (proff gary lupyan) found talking to yourself can improve memory (temporarily ) people who talked to themselves had better luck finding lost things - (there you go - now you know what to do next time you've lost your keys/phone/purse/wallet/list etc etc ) the idea is that saying words out loud helps activate properties more activelyin the brain and efficiently configures your brain to help process information. well this just goes to show - that i've got nothing better to do than come on here and talk about brains on a saturday night

Me either jan - now I don't feel so alone I always say stuff aloud when I need to remember or when I need to understand something I've always thought that hearing it out loud on top must use a different bit of the brain - so you have an extra 'office' logging and filing it then sending a reminder memo - obviously my explanation is pants but the actual process definitely helps me ...
