I have no idea why life is so complicated....but am beginning to suspect the Canada goose could be the culprit for a lot of our problems.

no one knows then ? all too busy looking out bloody window Life is complicated when you have adhd innit? And yes I was looking out the window at the rain, procrastinating about going out to get a much-needed px. I'm also hungry but can't be arsed to go and make lunch.

I feel for you Jan, wish I could offer you advice..
Why do we do that? Go to the lengths of writing down a number we know we will misplace, and not put it in our phones?? Very annoying!
I myself am supposed to be meeting up with old friends tonight, I like you am considering cancelling by text, really not in the mood for talking.. Especially when i will have to give a reason for not coming.

sorry you are feeling rough jan. i didn't see your post until now as i was out in that grey miserable wet morning, having gone out on the worst day possible to get a haircut. then i was busy admiring my frizzy drowned rat look in the mirror. but when i saw your post that said we were looking out of the window i looked out of the window and saw it's sunny now, so i went and sat in my front doorway and soaked up the amazingly warm sunshine and felt .... restored almost worth getting soaked and freezing for that amazing moment of light and warmth . and v mindful. shame about the hair tho. hope you feel better v soon. contrary m x

Sorry to hear that, hope you get well soon.
But on a brighter note, you'll be happy to know you only have normal flu, you don't have man-flu.. That is impossible. Man-flu is like 10x worse than normal flu. So you should be ok.

even though loved meeting you lot think the conference has affected me negatively - i am completely drained - mebbe that'll be the flu it's horribly draining. and i bet that conference was full of sneezing, coughing people with germy hands!!! (present company excepted ) loads of hot drinks, (drugs?), nice messages, hot water bottles, indulgent food, lots of sleep, junk tv (or radio) to snooze to, daughter pandering to your needs and doing a teeny bit of looking after you.... or make sure you ring in sick for the rest of the week to take the pressure off you, and get yourself properly better over the next few days. hopefully things'll look different - and tomorrow is due to be Sunny and 17C! cm x

thanks CM your such a sweetie - will follow all that advise (for once in my life ) and fair play dd has been amazing - tea , dinner, shopping , cleaning - may be part of my condition today - the shock all of sudden though as been thinking about the conference and conversation with adhd clinic this morn and suddenly thought - she never took meds when seeing pshyc at cahms for 4 years because it was firstly ritalin then concerta and was capsules and she couldn't swallow it (she has gag reflex thing and would projectile vomit them across room ) and were told she couldn't open it up but then got strattera - another capsule - which could be opened up - but she couldn't handle the taste of it in anything - she very sensitive with lots stuff - feel of material on her skin - all sorts and being young and depressed (and adhd ) she couldn't make herself so we gave up in the end as was causing so much stress on top of school stress etc and was just too much!!! now thinking back over weekend - everyones meds were small tablets that could be chopped up ? is this new since 2008 ? we were told there was no other format for the meds available

Just looked - it's def made as a liquid - called methylin. But couldn't see anything to say yes or no whether it's licensed here - you need DKL - someone needs to look in the BNF

Anyway, yes my tablets you could crush up cos they're instant - would be the same for instant Dex too. You can't crush or break long acting ones

You probably saw lots of people taking IRs - the extended ones would probably be taken before/with breakfast. It's also usual that the IRs can be chopped up - no special coatings to resist stomach acids.

i'm shocked my daughter was soooo bad during those years - bordering on psychosis at times and the pysch knew this as i was on the phone to them in desperation all the time through the whole 4 year period and we were told categorically that there was no other medication available apart from capsule form !!! things could of been so different for her if we'd been told/offered an alternative and if i'd been computer literate and found out !! i'm reeling !

Bipolar disorder is in part a disturbance of circadian rhythmicity: energy "on" in the middle of the night, or "off" in the morning in depressed phases, for example. Almost all BPII patients will experience hypomanic symptoms (remember, this often has the form of severe anxiety/agitation, difficulty concentrating, irritability) after sustained sleep deprivation, sometimes with as little as a single night’s interrupted sleep. These features have led to the hypothesis that "anchoring" a patient’s circadian rhythm might have mood stabilizing effects. The Western Psychiatric Clinic has been testing this hypothesis with an adjunctive treatment for bipolar disorder they call Social Rhythm TherapyFrank. Daily routines such as time of awakening, time of rising, time of first meal, time going to bed, time of going to sleep are kept very consistent in this treatment.
