Hi all,
So around 5 pm I feared I was having a hypo...very erratic and shaky...basically ive forgot to goto my gp and get test strips so ive been estimating how much insulin I need...
Anyway so yeah thought better get this hypo sorted...went and bought a bottle of lucazade. ..trouble is I picked up some new type with caffeine in it...tasted like goats piss tbh.
All hell broke loose soon after...the feeling of methylphenidate slipped away...major lack of attention, depressive thoughts and confusion. ..wtf.
After my martial arts lesson which went terribly I just felt super depressed like I couldn't do anything...
Thought may be today is just a bad day and it cant always be good times...
Went to bed...up at 4 pm randomly craving sugary drink...Light intermittent sleep...
This is certainly a first and the only thing I can pin it on is caffeine. Since I started concerta ive avoided caffine to the point where I avoid even fizzy drinks.
Does anyone else have problems with caffeine and methylphenidate?
Surprisingly nicotine works well in conjunction.

Caffeine helps my mph work - have to find the line between working for me and too much tho - if I cross the line then I feel a bit spacey and v slightly depersonalised I'm not on my own here with this, but I think I'm in a minority....

Hi,
thanks both.
I done some further reading into the matter and it seems, there are those on both sides, some cannot tolerate caffine at all whilst on Methlyphenidate, yet others are fine and the usual rule of not to over indulge applies.
Friday, Saturday & today have been fine, I've just avoided caffeine.
Strange stuff, but certainly something I can live without. Strangely pre-meds caffeine had 0 effects on me, I could drink multiple cans of red bull without the jitters/feeling much different/nod off to sleep!
Thursdays reaction caused concern for those close to me, because I was on a massive downer, worst feeling I've had in months!

I used to be coffee-mad, but totally de-caff now - it really messes me up on MPH

My brain refuses to allow me to forget the time I accidentally brought non-alcoholic becks to a BBQ. Everyone was well impressed, as you can imagine

Don't they use coke to dissolve road kill in the US? It's probably one of the worst things you can put into your body! See the GABA thread for more details if you believe in this sort of thing

Dont even miss fizzy drinks, if I must have one I stick to sugared fanta/7up. Use to drink a fair bit of sugar free stuff but its just not the same, and im on the fence re: artificial sweetners. Last time I was out...I stuck to drinking bottles of peroni...not usually a beer guy...perfer spirits but in a quest to avoid any further stimulants I think bottles of beer (in moderation of course ) may be the way forward. grim happens to the best of us mate!
