Hi all,
from a very young age, I've always hallucinated when I had a bad cold/high temp. Does this happen to anyone else?
I understand it's from the brain over heating, it's just super bizzare as I didn't realise I had a cold/high temp...Convinced myself on Saturday evening it was Stimulant psychosis through lack of sleep...Then on Sunday realised, oh wait, I've got a cold/high temp.
Last night was super bizzare, started hallucinating again, this time a non-stop auditory conversation regarding my duvet and how it's a liar...WTF. As it got closer to 9 and I realised I hadn't slept at all and felt rubbish I decided I must call work. My mind was telling me to tell them about my duvet being an evil liar, WTF.
Luckily I snapped out of it, and sent an e-mail followed by a telephone conversation without the mention of the duvet!
A random thread indeed, just wondered if anyone experiences the same?

Nope, nor would I ever accept this as 'just something I sometimes do' unless finding an ENT veteran with similarly presenting 'happy customers' was impossible.

When I was around 13, I had a fever and suffered some pretty severe hallucinations involving my goldfish talking to me (full blown question and answer session) and me thinking my bedroom was the set of Noel's House Party, and telling my mum to stop asking if I was ok while we were being filmed.
This was followed with a hospital stay after catching measels and spoutting all sorts nonsense to the nurses.
I was told by the doctors that my temperature was going too high resulting hallucinations. I can't really remember the details as it all so long ago.
I've not had anything like that in many years but I do have real problems with getting too hot, and a paranoia that I'll be sick if i don't cool down. My ex hated that I'd always try to keep cool bed, and not want to cuddle while sleeping. Telling your gf that cuddling makes you feel sick is not a good idea!

Lore, I had exact same problem with my ex. I couldn't do long cuddles, heat drives me wild.
Even in winter I sleep with windows wide open, heater off and fan blowing!

Also, for what it's worth, duvets shouldn't be trusted!

Also, for what it's worth, duvets shouldn't be trusted! Do they have ulterior motives?

Just remembered I had a blanket on my bed when I was a kid. It had wiggly lines all over it and one night they turned into snakes and started threatening me.
Sounds like none of this bedding can be trusted.

Do NT people not open their laptop (which is next to them on the bed, probably chatting to the snakes) when they wake up in the middle of the night and immediately start posting on forums?

Almost 6am and I don't feel tired. Not good. I think increasing my mph dosage *may* be affecting my sleep!
If I don't go to bed soon, I'll sleep through Hogmonay!

I know some that do and it's the worst thing possible for their sleep patterns. I found it really bad for mine too as my brain thinks it can talk to people instead of going back to sleep.

Any quilt that calls itself a duvet obviously has delusions of grandeur, and should not be trusted.
...and yes,i get severely lucid hallucinations when i get a high temp...more intense than some of the "reacreationally" self-inflicted ones from yesteryear...and made much worse by the addition of certain non-drowsy cold and flu remedies.
I've had a cold over this xmas as it goes, and fought it off with codeine and overeating...much less "trippy"

Oh look, the crazies have taken over my thread, joking Last night all returned to normal, the duvet is in the clear, no one is telling me it's an evil liar from XYZ - no crazy hallucinations, yay! Although I'm not sure if I've entered the crazy world of impulsiveness again, yesterday I decided it's time to re-light an old fire; photography. I set out to buy a 'cheap' lens, so spend around £200-£300 on a good deal. Some how, I've managed to go full potato, and spend 4 times the amount. With that said, there is a method to my madness, I should be able to capture some real beautiful moments...Can't let this fizzle out!

Yes, because the person who started it was obviously entirely sane.

WHAT?!? There was no mention of the quilt, only the duvet. The Duvet is the evil liar, the quilt is innocent in all of this. Why does he have to go for assessment?

Dogs and animals have always helped me make some sense out of life - or at least alleviate the stresses. Probably why I eventually stopped eating meat

Instant forgiveness and the ability to let go of the past almost instantaneously it's a dog's life!
