I'm holding my breath and hoping this works if it does....I owe it all to @planetdave If not, it's his fault how to get things done for ADHDers...... link

Got sooooo carried away with figuring out how to do links hadn't actually read it all completely the bit about 'body double' is so true.... as soon as my Dad or a friend comes over to help with something that I've ended up getting overwhelmed with, the minute we just drink tea and chat, I'm often completely able to start on it, even if they don't physically help, they're just 'there' in the background.... not sure I can afford to employ a permanent one though!

Totally agree, just sitting with you chatting while you get on with something can help enormously! Oh, and well done on actually posting the link!

hahaha fuzzywuzzy - congratulations on your first link strangely that's exactly the same link that i posted under Tips for organisation in the Link Library around the same time you posted it - cos @planetdave told me to. but have i misunderstood? cos i wonder if it is going to be useful to have a link library if it gets duplicated elsewhere -potentially splitting discussion on a subject - or is hard to find, or people don't remember/think to look down in the (not very shinily titled) Technical Section...... or did you mean to post it in the link library As Well As in a thread?

contrarymary i think the links library is a place to copy particularly useful links to a place where they wont fall off the front page as it were. So, if i post another one here that I (or anyone else for that matter) think might be useful to refer back to, I/they can reply to your original post titled "Tips for organisation" and add the link in there for easy reference and not forgetting you can link back to this thread, or this post, or any post on any thread for that matter, so the thread in the links library becomes the place to look for similar, useful links all grouped together no matter when or where the original discussion takes place - makes sense to me and I think PD was saying post new threads for links if you want, but kind of try and keep similar links on one "themed" thread if possible, which also makes sense in being able to find them quickly when you want to (or when hyper-focusing on a particular subject of course! )

yet another of those instances where paying distracted attention to what i'm reading leads to misunderstanding ... yet when you say it so nicely it makes complete sense (and seems bog obvious - d'oh) ..... thank you boo

"If a phone call or a request from your spouse distracts you from a task you’re working on, hold on to a physical artifact to remind you what you were doing, An unopened envelope, for instance, will remind you that you were opening mail before the interruption, and will focus your attention more quickly".
This made me chuckle. I do this involuntarily, and often find myself roaming the house with random artifacts/food/bewildered cats clenched in my hands. It is only when I realise that I can no longer pick further items up or operate door handles that I realise what I'm doing and retrace my steps. It is something I do find quite entertaining (if I'm not on a deadline).
+1 for body doubles too. Not sure how it works, but having someone there really does help with forms etc. Or if somebody does start my task, the control freak takes over and I have to take over task in case it is done wrong (go figure).

I do this too... It's when you're questioned by the washing machine police as to why you have random things in random pockets - that you knew you hung on to for something... somewhere...
