Description
Addressing the Balance will be presenting the 'ADDImpact' programme (Scotland’s pioneering first ‘summer school’)
The programme will be run in collaboration with the following experts:
1. Dr. Premal Shah, Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry at Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Honorary Senior Lecturer at University Department of Psychiatry, University of Edinburgh, and Chair of the working group on adult ADHD at Royal College of Psychiatrists in Scotland
2. Andrew Lewis, ADHD coach, Simply Well-being
3. Lindsay Carruthers, Psychologist/ ADHD Specialist and PhD Student at Edinburgh Napier University
4. Kirstin Dawson, Occupational Therapist at NHS Lothian
5. Dr. Alastair Dobbin, Founder of the Positve Mental Health Foundation.
The programme will consist of a series of day-long, seminars, role-play exercises and self-help learning workshops at the Grassmarket Community Project (Edinburgh), from Sunday 11th May to Sunday 15th June this summer.
The 'ADDImpact' programme is directed towards helping adults with ADHD, their parents/partners or significant others, to better understand and cope with the ADHD and thereby improve their life chances, and achieve their full potential, around key work/life areas such as in establishing and maintaining relationship in the workplace, at home and in social settings.
The workshops titles include: Understanding Accepting and Embracing, Diagnosis, Health, Relationships, Strategies and Planning and Kaizen (Embedding Change).
