One of my 'group' has - got a blue badge too.
Trouble is he's so ADHD that whenever I ask about it we get sidetracked PDQ.
He did say that he didn't fill in the form himself - which is fairly typical for successful applications. A well known charity filled it in on his behalf (they do lots of them and know what the assessors are looking for) with a supporting letter from his psychiatrist.

I've applied for my paperwork. I scored 8 points when I assessed myself online. My employer has ordered special software for me to use at work (after I was assessed by Access To Work). I feel a bit of a fraud....but I do need help. I would like to hire a cleaner/tidier as I cant do this for myself and I would like to try Freedom Filer for my paperwork probs. I've heard it is adhd friendly, but it is quite expensive.

I really really doubt it's considered much for ADHD as a primary dx! Perhaps if you've been in and out of psychiatric wards for nervous breakdowns etc..
Although I did get DSA which was quite good.

I was quite surprised that my 'mate' got PIP and a blue badge - under DSA I didn't know anyone that got anything for ADHD on its own. The badge was a huge surprise (for an adult) if he's telling it straight.
From what 'mate' said the application was a bang up proper job and the psychiatrists support letter didn't pull any punches.

Although it has changed name, and obviously has (politically) been made harder, it is still, in effect, about disability (whether or not a person is able to work).....and so is not about diagnosis per se but about severity of symptoms....and functioning

for assistance in completing the claim form well, understanding the process etc i cannot recommend highly enough the website benefits and workit was set up by specialist disability advisers to enable a wide audience to benefit from their expertise... they are a membership site - it costs between £15-20 per year - and it is quite easily the best money i have spent for each of the last three years.

Huh? The breast implants? Personal Independence Payment Oh, some sort of benefits then? Well I'm on the opposing side, ADHD is a bitch, but it's not like we're in a vegetative state, it has it's quirks.

Personal Independence Payment Oh, some sort of benefits then? Well I'm on the opposing side, ADHD is a bitch, but it's not like we're in a vegetative state, it has it's quirks. PIP, and it's predecessor DLA, are in work benefits. They are awarded to help people overcome the disadvantages (financial) that they experience by having a 'disability'. You would not receive it if you were not considered to be incapable of carrying out your daily activities without any form of external aid.

I am in the process of applying and Iv spent weeks researching the correct words codes my daily life and why I need help. You have to go google it because you do have rights to claim it only if you pass the criteria which falls under certain words like inattentive hypertension etc and them write in the form why you deserve the points and why. Then u will need an official therapist letter mine was severe adhd 9/9!ICD-D-10 which is the highest it was both physical and mental impairment so get help google your rights see if you qualify? Iv suffered for fifty dam years after only discovering it online using the adhd test then if u score high go to your doctor and then hopefully he will Send u to a therapist where it goes from there.Inwill inform you of my outcome but once again it’s possible and legal under the mental health act but it’s tricky researching and screenshooting is a must.

hi guys well from recent post I am still waiting nerviously for a decision afte sending pip mound of paperwork which I would say has every code criteria wording two official therapists my docter all claimimg that my severe adult adhd along with many daily issues are and should be enough to award me points along with why I should be awarded and so on. I have sent so much information especially using the UK CRITERIA to make it worth my time and effort in hopefully obtaining a benefit in my own right and it is possible so we will see. Just to add that it I important to remeberthat now is the time I hope to be recognised and hopefully rewarded not penalized as I have suffered in silence far to many years and we have to educate others as well as we are also very behind still unlike Americans who are so supportive in ADHD.Ok I will stay in touch and eventually I hope I can offer support one day WATCH THIS SPACE !!

Any news? What do you mean by “UK Criteria”? Also what do I need google as you stated? Can you give a few examples of what to google. Also can you give an example of what you said to your GP so that it can be put in your record. Did you say “I’m applying for Pip so can you list my symptoms and difficulties please?”
