Anyone here taught to read using this flash card method? (forget the author name)?
Random question I know but I was and I allways thought my disgraphia (sequenced problem) wd have been picked up on if I wasnt tauggt to sight read at such a young age as sequencing issues wd have been more likely picked up on if taight phonics at school.Reason im asking is a disscussion on a parenting forum where a poster claimed she doubted anyone who had developmentaldisordwrs or learning disabilitys had been taught this way (realy stupid comment as its actualy recommended kids wifh ds be taught tway due to pronouciation problems I think that effect phonics learning??)

Kid bounced on me so hit send before I was ready. anyways I know of two others taught this way both later dx with dyslexia as teens who feel being taught this way meant their developmental issues wrre never picked up on. And I guess I was woundering anyone here taught this way.
The discussion on the other site revolved around what benefit wd there be to teach a baby to read when research shows the age kids learn to read has no bearing on long term reading skills or intelligence and a general concern that if reading isnt a natural skill thatd be normal for babys to pick up is forcing it this way damaging in sm other way (is linking up nueral pathways too early detrimebtal to other nueral pathways that shd be linking up of their own accord for example)
Jst curious : )
