I think I'm going (to try) to start a food diary. Right here, right now. People can add their own if they want. I'm fed up of gaining weight and feeling crap, despite trying to clean up my diet! Perhaps with a small dose of shame I'll be able to get my act together! So, when I finished work this morning I consumed: 2 packets of Hula Hoops (bad) 2 chocolate clubs (bad) And a mug of apple cider vinegar & water (GOOD ) We'll see what the rest of the day brings... Hopefully something healthy!

Good luck! Hope it works out! Every now and then I'll do something like this just to force myself to eat healthier. Lasts about a week I'm terrible at these sorts of things. Maybe... This thread might encourage me to stick to something? I'll see how I feel about it. But a good thread to have!!

When I got up I had: Cottage pie Boiled veg Salad Another mug of water & apple cider vinegar A shot of Aloe Vera - did pretty well this time!
For lunch at work tonight I've had: A 'nakd' bar, An apple Go Ahead bar, McCoys crisps (I eat too many crisps!! This is becoming very apparent already) A small milkshake A 60g pack of cranberries & cashews

Pleased to say that when I got home this morning I »looked« at the Hula Hoops and said "No." outloud. I had a cup of water&ACV and 70ml of aloe instead As long as I can keep up this diary, I'll be thinking more about what I eat.. And with a little luck I'll avoid some of the rubbish! Hi BeeHow much acv do you put in your mug of water? I've been using 2 tablespoons? And how do you take the aloe Vera and for what purpose? Thanks xx

petraI use about 1 tbsp, and find it quite pleasant. I'm planning on building up, but it's just too over-powering for me at the mo. I buy bottles of aloe vera gel from a company called 'Forever', it's good quality and only uses the inner leaf (some companies use the whole leaf, but the outer rind is a known carcinogen), and I get 30% off which is a big plus! You just pour it into a medicine cup, measure how much you want and drink it. I take it because it's got shedloads of nutrients, it helps if you're trying to lose weight, it heals your body from the inside - loads of benefits. I ALWAYS get sick over xmas period. I started drinking it in Sept, and didn't get sick this year! - or at all since Sept! v happy! XxBeexX

Thanks this is really helpful xx I manage the 2 tablespoons of acv in a cup of water by firstly gearing myself up, then taking a deep breath and whilst holding my nose down it as quickly as possible followed by immediate mouth rinse!! I think I've got the same aloe Vera gel as you, but I've been using it for my parrot! So, do you mix it in with a cup of water? Surely you don't drink it as it is?

Haha that sounds awful! Well done for sticking at it! Have you tried adding honey?
I drink the aloe neat, but I like the taste. My other half can't stand it, so I put it in a glass of orange juice for him and it's.. manageable.

2 years ago I did a food diary for 4 months, lost 30 lbs and kept it off. Just thinking about it, learning about calories and stuff makes it easier to make better decisions. Good luck

Had a takeaway curry this evening, BUT it had lychees in so that makes it ok... Riiiight?? I think my problem is the sugar and the lack of impulse control. I'll think nothing of sitting and eating a huge bar of chocolate in one go, and then probably going to look for pudding
