Do any of you have really vivid and weird dreams??
I last night dreamt that a herd of cows had got into my fenced off back garden somehow and as I stared at them pondering the phenomena from my bedroom window they drew semi automatic rifles and started firing at me, taking out my bedroom window!!
It was actually a little bit terrifying! Lol
But how the hell on earth did I dream up cows with guns???

Yup, I often have weird and vivid dreams! I tend to find most people would consider most of my dreams to be nightmares but I'm used to them now. One example would be dreaming about stealing some DVDs from HMV and then ending up in a vampire torture whore house where women were strung up and assaulted, then this mother came along and said she'd trade places with her daughter for a while. I on the other hand was for some reason sat in the corner reading a book and hiding! I won't go into more detail as is wasn't pleasant but yeah I do have vivid and weird dreams haha Cows with guns however is one I haven't had hehe

I very rarely dream at all, or maybe I do and just dint remember! I listened to a podcast on sleep hygiene for adhd and apparantly as we're such bad sleepers we don't often reach the REM part of sleep where we dream. However, when I do dream they are always proper mad, vivid, disturbing and I actually quite admire them for their difference even if they do normally have me sitting bolt upright, shouting and sweating! As a kid whenever I was ill I'd have the worst nightmares which seemed more like a serious of feelings/textures, hard to explain, but like I was gliding out of control over different surfaces???.

I had night terrors as a child (and also walked in my sleep), and extreme nightmares as an adult. Caused my husband a degree of stress too as I also had a habit of screaming out in terror. I still get them but much less often in the years since dx. I wonder if they are the outcome of a brain constantly trying to make sense of things and dx meant one major subconscious worry answered.
My dreams are also vivid and odd ... and if they are funny odd I wake up laughing (don't know if I'm laughing out loud when I wake. I used to think I was but I can't tell now.)

I dream pretty much every night, and they're always very vivid, odd and detailed. I quite often remember them too, so that's nice I've gotten a lot of good plot ideas from my dreams
Strangely enough, I never have nightmares. Not since I was about 10 anyway. Don't know what that says about me!
Sometimes my dreams feel so real though that I have trouble differentiating them from actual memories. That can get pretty awkward lol.

I never have nightmares! Even the dreams where there's bad situations or it gets gory I never associate with being nightmares because I still enjoy them. Does that make me a freak? O.o

skycaptain Not a freak at all! I'm exactly the same I've dreamt about my dad turning into a zombie and all sorts of things that would normally horrify me, but while I'm dreaming I don't feel afraid or grossed out or anything.

Had a strange one last night... Usually I realise I'm dreaming, and although it's very difficult to actually influence what happens, I can close my eyes and shake my head really fast (in the dream), then either the setting changes completely, or I wake up. I have even done this in real, stressful situations in order to try and wake up, hoping it's all a dream.
In this last dream, I was in a hospital, but I was delirious, and just kind of wandering around, not knowing what was going on. I remember feeling dreadful. I tried to change/wake up, but instead both kind of happened and I started dreaming that I was in my bed at home, but having some sort of seizure. The only reason I know this didn't actually happen is because I happened not to be sleeping at home last night. Otherwise, I'd be really concerned about it, as it seemed completely real.
Does anyone else here experience sleep paralysis?

I'm exactly the same I've dreamt about my dad turning into a zombie and all sorts of things that would normally horrify me, but while I'm dreaming I don't feel afraid or grossed out or anything. Sometimes every now and then I'll get a reoccurring dream theme (which tend to come in three's before they stop) and once a dream theme was 'brutal deaths' where I would witness the death of someone in the most detailed way. One was a car/bus collision and one was a train hit (can't remember the other one). And although very brutal and very detailed, I actually found them outstandingly fascinating! It's like when you know something is wrong to witness and you're not allowed to see it so when you do, you find it fascinating! alpinelake I actually almost had a lucid dream last night! That's the second time ever I've actually been aware that I was dreaming! I'm really excited about it lol but as you would expect, after I realised I was dreaming, I actually forgot about being aware about 5seconds after lol typical!
