Finding it VERY difficult not to sink into another hole.
Two debts from 3-5 years ago just caught up with me. Ones I cannot ignore otherwise Court will be involved, and a CCJ.
Of the money i get, now 90% of it is gone just on debts and bills.
That doesn't count food, electric, internet or phone.
I LITERALLY cannot afford to live because of the debt i have run up because of my ADHD/whatever else I have.
That hole is looking reeeallly comfortable right now.... F*ck....

I ONLY JUST got out of the Court/CCJ thing. Never been in my life, never been in legal trouble either. This is all totally new to me. I knew my luck wouldn't last.
That CAB thing was mentioned though, but i'm not very good with people or with talking to them or asking for help.

there are loads of online tools if that would be easier for you, but most areas also have a money advice service. they are really good and can advise and even do the negotiating for you. good luck

All CAB would probs do is point you in the direction of a debt management agency, they did with me. I was given a CCJ after ignoring one of my debts and 'pretending' that I didn't receive the letters they were sending because they still insisted in sending them to my mums house even after I told them I'd moved address. But anyways, I realised I had to do something asap before it got more out of hand and I ended up contacting a DMA and it's best decision I ever flippin made!! The best thing to do, make sure you have about an hours spare time (pref a spare afternoon cos if you're like me, you'll get worked up about it and need considerable space to do it at you're own pace) and call a debt management agency. Just bite the bullet, be honest with them. It can be long winded and quite stressful to go through so bear that in mind and expect it to be but remember they are there to help, they aren't going to judge because it's their job to help you. If you have a partner (who hopefully knows your current situation) or a close friend or family member, it's helpful to have them around to encourage you. It's better on the other side, trust me

either way round, head in the sand is not an option, and biting the bullet ends up being a Lot More Comfortable in the long run - a chance to let go of the fear and anxiety and know exactly where you are. it can help to get back a sense of control and sustainability.
worth remembering that there are lots of options - specialist NGO money advice services, commercial DMAs and doing it yourself using online tools. it will not go away but you are not powerless either. facing the dragons is often a lot less scary than not facing them.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I have been on a debt charities website and done their form thingy, it suggested a DRO. Which i know of but didnt think applied to me, i thought it was for people who had massive amounts of it.
Either way its something to consider. And I am doing something instead of hiding from it as i usually do, which is novel.
