Hi hope all is well
?
I don't know if your situation is entirely like mine but excuse my ignorance if I assume wrong , usually adhders have the exact same struggles, so here's my advice
Sometimes if one job isn't working out ,this is usually a sign that our ADHD doesn't like this job anymore, or you've lost your motivation ,the ADHD mind shuts down and starts slacking even if you want to battle against it but don't know how ,if the environment isn't working for you any more and u can't switch gear to get back into it again then maybe it's for the best. It's not ur fault things go wrong because the ADHD mind gets bored very easily and motivation is key for our brains to sustain focus its a very complex and irritatingly stupid condition but y have to understand it to find strategies to show your best focus self as much as you can.
it's the status quo when it comes to ADHD if the environment is becoming tedious and boring the ADHD mind will start to give in and not want work for you , unless you can try and manipulate your environment or try and regroup , and realign your longterm goals like a holiday, to force a dopamine rush which will keep you wanting to work, otherwise you'll drift through every job aimlessly until ur bored again . Short term and longterm goals are vital to. Not falling through the cracks and getting depressed .
You've got to have goals even if there nothing really special, goals are ultimately what will get us adhders from a to b we need to push for a motivating goal for our minds to want to work for us , and fight the constant boredom I think this is the main reason why our minds wander so much because the low dopamine just isn't keeping us satisfied to attend like everyone else,
we need to constantly regroup with ourselves and document goals down to keep motivation alive otherwise it just drifts away and forgotten , because dopamine isn't keeping us outwardly motivated
Give yourselve small goals and rewards , a job is ultimately about the money , think about how you could enjoy things with the money ,save some ,so you can feel more in control of your life , to know you can actually save and that you can fight the impulsivity ,set up a savings account that you can't touch for a year, each month or week ul know you have some more money being put away and u start to collect , each week you'll be getting richer and that money won't be blown
put in a certain amount within your means each week or month , go on a holiday or save for a deposit for a house. , For something important something that will have a beneficial impact on your future. this will give you a sense of a longterm goal and security . And focus to work and do as best you can
list certain things you would like to experience, with your savings, I find with ADHD I never plan for my future , but with forcing myself to write down what I would like to do at some time in my life I can plot a course to save money, like for instance I would like to save for a house some day , I would like to save for a static caravan and spend sunny days with my family near the beach and having a bbq ,you can get them for a few grand , things like this ; i can own this and go On holiday whenever I want , before I made a future plan I had no motivation and blew every penny on absolutely nothing , I still have to try and focus on what it is I want and this is why I need to stick to a job and one that suits my needs , goals will keep u going .
there' apps on the App Store if you have an iPod or iPhone that are free that help you to set up goals and reminders and break down long term goals and what small short term goals will help you get there , I find them really helpful to keep me motivated otherwise i would just spend all my money and not keep track of my spending, I think about what I'm actually doing with my money and what I even want instead of spending impulsively ,
I'm aware that this disability is with executive functions it's like we don't think, we'll we do but our thoughts aren't put outwardly into action ,it takes either the environment or motivation for the thought to take action ,
we struggle with the putting into action if the motivation isn't there so making things visual like simply writing it down weekly goals and longterm goals and reminders will be ur executive function , do everything you can, if you don't want to struggle with no control anymore strategies need to be put in place to compensate for executive functions ; it's not easy and it nut seem a bit rigid but it helps keep the mind in task which is ultimately the reasons behind everything in life non ADHD people do this naturally we have to make this process that we bit more manual. For it to work .
non ADHD people can self motivate we can't as well , we need our environment to motivate ,so the fresh new job and exciment of new prospects motivates us but after a while the novelty wears off but u have to fight on ,
longterm survival is the ultimate goal having money saved for your future , for having things u want and living comfortably , that's all we can do try our hardest and say we did our best to fight against ADHD and saving money to live a comfortable life and try. And control ours lives as much as we can.
Maybe it's time to move on don't beat urself up about it , it's part of the low dopamine situation and. Not getting satisfaction from working to better your craft , we are stuck in a constant yurrning for that dopamine sensation that others just have , so we get bored and stressed very easily. The best we can do is keep that in perspective and try our Damdness to preserveer and to reaching a comfortable future ;
Sorry for the long post I've been thinking a lot lately hope this helped

one door closes another one will open , finding a job that suits ur ADHD needs , if you don't like having to work around lot of people look for that specific job so you can focus better on the job alone ,
