Are there any ADHD (Hyper) and Asperger co-morbids out there?
I've been recently diagnosed with both, and am finding that the interaction between the two means that many of the standard coping strategies for either seperate condition aren't effective. Does anyone know any resources that work for people with both?
Secondly, I'm medicated with Concerta XL. I have this weird feeling that as my Concerta is being brought up to effective strength I'm being "more Aspie". It's as though the ADHD and ASD were previously mitigating each other to an extent and now the ADHD is toning down, the Aspie side of me is more prevelant. Has anyone else experienced this?

Im ADHD and Aspie, but I dont think Im hyper, its every other kind but hyper. I can be hyper in thoughts and shifting conflicting focus. But I am not one of those people bursting with endless energy running around.
I am not medicated yet, but will update when I am.
Just thinking your scenario through, surely being able to focus better, really sustain it for long tasks and goals. Will let you be "more of yourself" and get more of anything done based on your desires and goals. And if your character and interests are Aspie, becoming more "functional" and productive in your endeavours by getting a handle on ADHD, then it will result in a greater feeling, appearance and experience of aspergerdom.

I didn't think that I was hyper, but I've just been diagnosed with the H because of racing thoughts and speech and constant (not energetic) movement.

I suspect I might be both ADHD and Aspergers. I swing between extreme hyperfocus and total distraction. I struggle to stay on the mainstream
path required to achieve daily goals. I use various techniques to waken myself up when I realise I am not in mainstream reality. My main
trick is to use my senses to survey the room around me. In checking that it is in order I land back on planet earth for enough time to get things
done, until I disappear once more into my other timeless world.
