Wow! I haven't updated since February
It's my 4 year ADHD diagnosis anniversary tommorow!
So . . . I managed to persuade the psych to prescribe IR dex . . 5mg 1 - 3 times a day
at first I felt a bit spaced out and had an incredibly dry mouth, but it got better.
I finished my 6 appointments and had to wait for funding for more . . I got ONE more,
where the psych discharged me to GP shared care with 5mg x 4 per day saying I could take 10mg
as first dose . . .I don't feel like I've been properly titrated because the equivalent to 50mg elvanse
(which was when I experienced positive effects) is 17.5mg per dose.
I'm getting a bit of improvement in concentration and my BP is only a little elevated and in normal range.
I'll have to be re-referred if I want to increase the dose, so I've been playing around with dose and spacing,
although not too much as I only have 20mg a day.
I had a massive falling out with my business partner where he told me that ADHD is a made-up condition
which is an excuse for character flaws (which he comprehensively listed) and said the only thing which would
make me a better person is a lobotomy . . .he is now cut out of my life.
Then work started to criticise the way I communicate, citing long pauses, not finishing sentences before moving to
the next, jumping from subject to subject and going off on tangents . . .hmmm . . . they know about my ADHD,
so I thought a carefully worded email to my line manager to explain why I do this might help . . . HAHAHAHAHA!
they passed it onto HR who suggested that I was admitting to having communication problems and effective communication
is in my job description, so I am failing to meet this requirement and I'm being sent to Occupational Health.
I've been in my job 2.5 years! I'm hoping I can convince OH that it's my communication STYLE and not content or ability
which is being criticised and they're actually being discriminatory . . .
