The day started pretty well, up and ready to go to the gym by 9am, left on time with no distractions, had a great work out then stopped off to pick up my prescription. This was a private prescription, never had one before but assumed it would be the same as a normal one, wow how wrong I was. First two chemists wouldn't touch it, not registered or something. Rang the doctors and got told where to go. Arrived handed it over then waited 20 mins to be told they could not dispense it as anyone could have written it. They needed to speak to my consultant to make sure that I was entitled to them. It was sort of downhill from that point, after my rant about him assuming I was a junky and how totally incompetent he was I stormed off out, forgetting to pick up the prescription and my son (he is old enough to be left alone!) my son arrived back at the car, I think a bit embarrassed, and suggested going to eat. During our meal I had an email from my consultant to say she had spoken to the pharmacist and all was ok, return now as they were ready to collect. Quietly went back in and collected, paid and left. I guess he was just doing his job by of course it was all about me!!!! Let's hope the rest of the day improves slightly.

I love the look you get from the pharmacist when you are collecting your prescription, the glare over the top of the glasses. Like do you really need this son? If you are getting unpleasant looks from your pharmacist, please vote with your feet and go elsewhere. I have only once had any sort of reaction to a prescription for mph, and to be fair, I don't blame the pharmacist on that occasion. I arrived with 10 minutes to spare before closing, looking like a drowned rat because I had been running in and out of other pharmacists, in the rain, trying to find one that could give me a partial supply of my first ever prescription. The very helpful lady was totally incredulous that I had no id on me at all, and that I rarely carry it, but she smiled and winked and said that she would give me a few days supply on trust because she could see I was genuine.... and then her words trailed off when she realised she was being a little inappropriate.
