This phone is lucky its not been tossed through a window and ended up on the M22 because its the most infuriating piece of shit I've ever had. And guess what? I'm stuck in a 2 year contract with O2!! I don't have the money to upgrade early and O2 are so fuckibg shite they refuse to see a bloody problem!!!
I'm naming and shaming the bloody thing! Sony xperia SP. I am never having a Sony phone ever again! When I took the contract out Feb 14 it was deemed as still a new model. But Sony decided to stop all software updates for it! I discovered this the following June! And ever since, this phone has issue after issue that a simple software update will fix.
It pauses while I'm tapping away so half the actions don't even get recognized, the screen fades out then back to normal again. It resets itself, its slow, half the apps 'failed to respond', the sound button sometimes doesn't like to work during video playback, the back button for the web sometimes doesn't like to function. The keypad only appears half the time when i want to type. Sometimes it doesn't even let me answer or even end a fucking call!!!
It is so slow I do not have the patience to wait for things to load!!
All O2 say is 'have you tried doing a reset'? Yes, a reset temporarily works for a month then its back to its old tricks again. But I can't be doing resets every month!! Backing up on computer, wiping everything and then spending ages re downloading everything again because I've noticed transferring my back up back onto my phone is just a flipping nightmare that doesn't work half the time either!
I'll shove it up O2's arse and they can deal with it!
After Feb next year when I've got myself a new phone >_>
*breathe* rant over. [Mumble]pieceofepicwankshit[\mumble]

I bought an Experia because it was cheap (not sure which model).
Not impressed.
Before that I had a Chinese thing - hardware was all fine but there was a software 'fault' (some idiot had patitioned the memory and EVERYTHING went into a tiny sector - tiny because that's where the OS resided). Do not buy direct from China. Let's say they haven't caught up with the idea of service...or honesty.
I had a dirty great expnader card - no dice.
At least my provider is OK - SIM only with Gif Gaf. I usually have issues with customer services but since the phone isn't their fault I never have an issue that I cant solve myself.

if you got the phone from a company and it's not working for the purpose for which it was provided -whether a hardware or software fault - and they are not fixing it, then they have broken the contract. phone manufacturers have a duty to ensure that their phones work for a period of 2 years after sale. but your rights and contract is with the shop/site where you got the phone, regardless of who is your network provider. whoever sold you the phone should provide you with a working handset, arrange for a repair or to give you your money back. you have paid for a phone that works properly and you don't have what you have paid for. it is part of the contract that the phone should be working! if it is 02 who have provided you with the phone as part of a monthly contract, they have broken the contract and cannot expect you to continue to be bound by the terms of a contract which they are not keeping themselves. when you have a contract one side don't get to decide they are not going to keep their end of the bargain. if whoever has broken the contract does not respond adequately, you can give them notice that you will be seeking compensation in the small claims court (which is easy to do) there are lots of places to give advice about your rights... this one is pretty clear but CAB and others have great sites too. there is something brilliant about standing up for your rights when companies think they can take advantage of people not knowing the law. go get'em skycaptain

I agree with contrarymary. My first point of action would have been to contact Sony directly, though - have you tried that yet? I've never had a Sony phone before (I'm an Apple person ), but even if it's been over a year, Apple is always willing to take a look and sort out the issue if they can, sometimes even replacing the phone entirely for free.
