The 2002 consensus on ADHD, available on Russell Barkley's website is a good counter for any "denial".
It should be a crime to deny a disorder like this, especially when forumalted into sensationalist media articles through which general public will learn to accept the whole thing is a sham!
Think of holocaust denial or something, if the media kept putting through headlines of fictitious disorder. The majority of the public would believe it.
But this affects a significant part of the population now.

I would agree with you it affects a significant part of the world population, but not all in the same way. Some are affected by believing this article about ADHD not being a real disorder or disability, while some who are already aware of ADHD are angry that their condition is being attacked for not being real, etc.
I also think this is the price of freedom of speech, where we are free to question authority, we are also free to express our opinions, regardless of weather they are accurate or propaganda.
When the message is one like this article, the people who know the truth will say so and the people who don't agree will continue to live in their ignorance.
I can't help feeling pissed off when people write that my struggles are not real, it makes me want to reach for my pitch fork and torch and round them up with an angry mob.

Im all for freedom of speech, but unsubstantiated sensationalist "opinions" presented as facts is a dangerous thing.
I read a statistic from SLAM's newsletter:
"Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are common lifespan conditions that cost society more than cancer, diabetes and heart disease combined."
ADHD is also often the route of a multiplicity of serious mental health problems.
Putting out information like this is really really dangerous. Its like saying smoking has no correlation with cancer so dont worry about it - its all a sham and scaremongering.
Its like telling a population with an AIDS prevalence that condoms are not effective and just hocus pocus.
Etc and so forth.

I totally agree with you on that point, but it wasn't until I attended University that I learned I couldn't just write any old rubbish down and put it out there, on the web.
If it wasn't for my decision to do a degree, I would not of learnt the simple things like having sources and references for your information, etc.
Plus, if someone is reading this utter tripe like your quote above, and they don't know to check that there are sources, they will share a link to it, and it begins to spread like wildfire.
I suppose the only real thing that can be done is individuals like yourself and me and others in here continue to be vigilante about correcting these people, or pointing out where they got this information from, etc.
