Hi their everyone well I'm 43 male recently diagnosed with mod/ severe combined type adhd i always knew something was not quite right so went to my local secondary mental health the service to be totally honest was rubbish and left feeling more down and depressed with no answers
so I decided to go private yes I was seen quickly BUT took 3 months to get a diagnosis after initial assessment i found it a daunting and very vigorous process as an adult you have to provide evidence from childhood go for an ecg blood pressure test up to now it's cost £720 with a private script at £74 cost from asda
ANYWAY I'm at day 2 at 18 mg atomoxetine heres how it's gone so far
Day 1 - 18mg)took at 8am felt OK most of the day just felt a bit anxious later on in the day slept ok. Fine really
Day 2 -18mg) took at 8 am again well I felt a bit sick 1/2 an hour after taking and a tad anxious not really hungry bit of stomach ache. Didn't fancy any food but made myself eat at dinner time I've felt a bit light headed but nothing to worry about. Oh and slight headache this afternoon which I've still got. No pain killers need though I'll post again tomorrow to update from 5.30pm tonight x

I found I had increased anxiety to start with. Also nausea and headaches, this did pass after a while.

Well day 3 to 7 I felt OK the only thing I have noticed is loss of appetite still on 18mg
Days 7 -9 started on 40 mg felt a bit fuzzy headed with the increase on first day but fine since
Seem to get really hungry later on on an evening
Looks like I'm ok with side effects. Just lucky I suppose ( touch wood of course )
Talk soon

Well been really busy so haven't reported for a bit
Well I'm on 60mg now noticed a couple of side effects going from 40 mg One thing I have noticed if the lack of appetite though I take the med at 8am and don't feel like eating till late on in the day around 10pm? Maybe should change to bedtime dosing?
Oh and if I don't take my beta blockers and ramapril my heart is off like the clappers a tad scary at times So it's been 3 weeks today since starting strateera and haven't really noticed anything working yet Hopefully in another 3 weeks it may start to work? All the best to everyone for 2016 I'll carry on posting

Hi Andy, I am taking Strattera too. I started several months ago. Gone from 40 to 60mg. I can say that it's taken a while to start working (months, in my case), and the effects are not as strong as I was hoping, but they were enough for me. Now the stress has taken its toll. I've had some unexpected events and the effects of the med seem to be dampened by this thing. I hope it's a temporary thing. I really don't want to go through all the "new med, new side effects, waiting for it to start working" again. Side effects for me: fragmented sleep, this has gone away by itself in a very short time. And nausea, this is still present, but only if I take it on an empty stomach. Just very little food is enough to avoid it. I hope it works for you! Best wishes
