I suspect a lot of us do it. Possibly as a technique for slowing our brains to the speed of speech.
Of course, we don't mean everything we say, it just felt right to say it. Sometimes pride (or shame avoidance) makes we stick to our guns sometimes - especially if we are pre diagnosed.
I tell those close to me that I 'think with my mouth open' and to not to get too concerned about bad ideas only I'd I start to elaborate or bring it up a second time.
I also ask that if I say something offensive, look at my face and lists to the context. If I mean it, these will tell you. Try, I ask ( and realise it's easier said than done) to go off intent not content.
If I accidentally offend, and told so, they should prepare for apologies to the point of irritation.

Absolutely! I think there's 2 different types.
The working through of new ideas when you get hyperfocus and over-excited. . .I know that I'm not actually having a conversation. . I'm talking out loud and repeating and modifying and 'maybe I could . . ' 'if I do this then. .' 'what if I do it like this. .but the other way round?. '
My business partner understands that he needs to listen with little input until I've got it out because this is the way I/we get our best ideas. He'll then set me off again by coming in with his opinions and ideas and we can work really quickly and between us some up with some amazing things.
It must be really annoying when you're vocalising where you might put the furniture and why to the deliverymen. . .I even bore myself sometimes. .
The second type is the brain/mouth mismatch. . .talking and thinking so quickly that you say stupid and offensive or untrue things, or say completely the wrong word, when you know exactly what the right one is . . the other day I was in the post office sending something special delivery and was asked what type of payment for the service was in the envelope. . I said 'cash' straight away and got a funny look because it tells you not to send cash, which is why I'd included a cheque. . and I knew it was a cheque and I'd never post cash. . .why?
