Still waiting for my appointment I was given methylphenidate, which didn't work so well. I refused to take any alternatives and was discharged. A few weeks later I changed my mind (super indecisive person here ) and months later I've still received no appointment... All the freaking coursework I'm getting is driving me crazy!!!!!!

Hi adhdude Waiting + ADHD = NOOT A GOOD MATCH! Sounds like you're a student, hang in there. I've found it helps to be very forward and direct when dealing with specialists to het appointments, even going so far as to call regularly to see if there might be any cancelled appointments. who know's this might work for you as well. Thanks for the tip. I've called and emailed a few times - I just get told that it's taking time for the funding to apparently come through for the appointment.

Ah so I assume you're doing the route through the University for an assessment? I've just started that process myself, but not for the diagnosis or treatment just to see what other support might be out there that is focussed on students / academia. Had a go at methylphenidate initially but that didn't suit me, now on Elvanse but also not a great fit. I'm seeing my specialist next week and will probably be switched to Strattera.... The fact that I'm writing this at 3.37 am is a sign that the right treatment has not been found yet. I hope you get your appointment soon so you can get started on finding what works for you. I'm actually trying to get it done under the NHS - I found it quite odd that funding was their excuse for the delay... Hope the Strattera works for you - it's really different to the others so you can expect rather different results I feel you - I go to sleep at 5 am on average. I rushed through an entire assignment today and yesterday that was set about 6 weeks ago, finishing literally at the last minute (submission at 16:59 lol) Thnx btw, I appreciate that And also, don't forget to apply for DSA if you haven't already - it might just be the best way to get additional student-focused support
