What a tale of woe! I'll have to read it again, but you are a "fine" example of the damage that ADHD can do.
Funny; I've send my first mail ever to Italy yesterday, because Judue and Sting have an estate/business there.

One other thing I hate about fora. What I expect, is attention. But I'm not able to return that to all those present, and that makes me feel selfish and guilty and confused. Which I already feel in general. I need consolation and understanding.. But if you feel - with a little exaggeration - torn, if you doubt all the time, ... then you experience stress and you run. (Or fight.)
"Anyone is so untrue". Honesty, by Billy Joel, right now on the radio. I believe he has an ADHD-character. Used to box, was addicted to alcohol, like John Lennon ...

I started this as an answer to Endless, but why not ...? So I did. ------------ Who are you to judge me? I don't know anything about you. Age, nationality, gender, professional status, ofcourse outlook, voice, ... One of the things I don't like about fora. (But they are useful.) You could fill me in, and I you. Or maybe I should write an introduction. Or maybe I'm fed up with you lot soon and leave. I don't mean that, about being fed up. You see, I need personal relationships, which I don't have in real life. I need the "full monty". I want to know everything about somebody's feelings, views, memories, selfimage, ... and I find it that "real people" are often not interesting, probably because they communicate so "thinly'. I don't want the shop to just have greens or clothes; I want a supermarket, that I can explore. And want to show "the customer" everything I have "in store". Are you being served? I don't see myself as easy. To the contrary, it wouldn't surprise me that I'be the most complex being on earth. I would like to communicate with everybody about anything; in reality I just talk to 2 people about some stuff, like feelings. My mother (74) and some kind of social worker. They both receive not more than 5 out of 10. It's extremely hard to find 10's, for me anyway. Most people seem to be too selfconfident, even if they have so many faults and flaws. When you watch shows about bad restaurants, one of the advises often is to limit the dishes in order to be more efficient and to raise the quality. One of my problems: being very perg-feitonositic on the one side and not being able to handle all my dishes on the other hand. I face bankruptcy! I'm rather insecure regarding my writing style. It's hard too evaluate one self. I'm struggling a bit with the English, because I'm used to hearing it a lot, but reading it less. Although I often watch movies, documentaries, some talk shows like Question Hour and series like now Versailles on BBC 1 and 2. Recently I started to know more about the life of John Lennon. I should have been a career rock/pop musician; you're the one who can yell, or confess, or cry, or preach, or ... to the whole world, and still they find you strong and succesful. While being locked up in the shell of a "normal" being, I achieve nothing. Heal the world; make it a better place. How about the man in the mirror? I know you're intentions are good - or is it "well"? - but I'm curious about you. And afraid if expect to much from you. You see, there I go again: very inquisitive and very fearful.

Thanks. Is that your conclusion or are you confirming what I already stated? The smart compliment I mean.
I'm surprised you call me funny. Which I won't dispute, but I didn't realise that somebody would do that. Which sentences are you referring to?
And ... how about you? If I'm not mistaken, you haven't enlisted yourself. Why not? I don't like mysteries. This is not a critique; two strong urges I have. To want to understand (almost) everything and to be afraid of a lot.

R.I.P. Another one bites the crust (of the earth). "ADD people can and do perform remarkable things, when they understand their advantages and utilize them, and understand the drawbacks and Thomas Edison-An ADD successovercome them. For example, Thomas Edison, John F. Kennedy, Albert Einstein, John Lennon, Henry Ford, Whoppi Goldberg, Mozart, Galileo, Suzanne Somers, Winston Churchill, Michael Phelps, and Steve Jobs had ADD. Terry Bradshaw, Robin Williams, Magic Johnson, Henry Winkler, and Mohammed Ali are also believed to have it. (I personally conversed with Mohammed Ali for about two hours and was privileged to see how special his mind worked.) They were and still are very special people BECAUSE they have ADD." findyourcoach.com/attention-deficit-disorder-add-blessing-or-disorder/

Hi Annie You seemed to have missed this sentence in my letter. "But nobody pays attention to a unconnected underachiever/loner/observer/dreamer/thinker/anxiety patient with Attention Deficit Disorder who hasn't worked in 15 years, and who has sent + 2000 mails, while possibly nobody else has got a brilliant plan like his ..." Read more: aadduk.proboards.com/thread/10313/saving-thousands-lives-year-mission#ixzz4Ac3djewSOfcourse I am here because of ADD, and because nobody wants to help me, and because I"m a bit of an anglofiel. My whole life can be a tale of decline and pain and loneliness, or I can do something with my talents, to "come back with a vengeance". The last hour I've sent mails around to reach Trudie Styler. Sting was and is one of my favourite musicians and singers, so it's great that she and he understand "it". Wait and see if she would reach out to me. "Trudie Styler on ADHD and Dyslexia: Don’t Give up, Do Reach Out" childmind.org/article/trudie-styler-on-adhd-and-dyslexia-dont-give-up-do-reach-out/Once upon a time she begged people to give her a chance. That was given to her. I believe that she should and would give me one.

I just started a thread with that title somewhere else. If I remember correctly, in the "general department". What now?

And so much more. I'm just way smarter than most politicians, professors and top managers, but on the other hand, a total underachiever and loser. That could change, but not if "everybody" keeps ignoring me. (I know that this "sounds" egotistical, but I do know what suffering is and therefor I feel for the many millions human beings that lead terrible lives. I want to help change the fates of lots of them.)
My climate, humanity, EU and refugees friendly masterplan with the potential of saving tens of thousands of lives each year, could really use the patronage of ....
It can also show lots of Eurosceptic Brits - another reason to act swiftly - that working together with the other EU-countries can give millions in your country a much better life. So the "let's stay together"-side - I like the Tina Turner version better, but Al Green's original was good too - could have an extra positive argument.
-------------------------------
This letter contains the essence of my masterplan, but is ofcourse far from complete. It would take several mails, and preferably a face to face dialogue - some kind of TED-talk one on one - to present all of my arguments (pro), and what the outcome would be, possibly or most likely. You could help me find an editor/spokesperson/partner/... that would help me finish some kind of rapport (meant for the politicians, of at least Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany + Juncker; if they would get to know all the plusses of this plan and decide for it, the rest would probably follow, because every country has something to win if I'm right, and I believe that's the case.).
Onderwerp: My masterplan that would have the 28 EU-countries tax the climate hostile commercial transport 180 billion Euros, which could save thousands of lives each year; can we exchange some mails?
My "message in a bottle" to all those who fit the shoe (to start with Julie's Bicycle, London, because of their letter in the Guardian in december)
Dear Sir/Madame
I hope you will have a few minutes to read this mail and will be impressed by my extreme mission. I won't be disappointed if I don't get an answer; I'm used to it. In the last 18 months I have developed an ingenious masterplan that would have the 28 EU-countries tax the climate threatening international commercial transport - responsible for the loss of tens of thousands of lives each year world wide mainly through cancer and other terrible diseases - 180 billion Euros, which could/would be spent in creating 7 to 8,5 million jobs for the most vulnerable unemployed/disabled and thus save thousands of lives (suicide) each year (36 billlion), the UN Green Climate Fund (30), the refugees in Turkey (6), renewable energy/public transport/... (30), energy poverty (25), ... This plan would have an effect on the inflation of less than 2 %, and would make the Zero Interest Rate Policy by the ECB, meant to push that inflation up to around 2 % in the Eurozone, but by many economists and bankers considered as unproductive and even leading to a new financial and economical crisis, unnecessary. (The UK obviously is not using the Euro, but the inflation in the Eurozone has an effect on the level of prices in the other EU-countries and vice versa.) But nobody pays attention to a unconnected underachiever/loner/observer/dreamer/thinker/anxiety patient with Attention Deficit Disorder who hasn't worked in 15 years, and who has sent + 2000 mails, while possibly nobody else has got a brilliant plan like his ...
I feel like Will Hunting in that movie that has a third word in the title: "Good". He is an unimportant person who has the talent to solve a complicated riddle on the blackboard quite easily, while the professionals - in his case the mathematicians, in mine the politicians - keep on wrecking their brains and talking about finding a/the solution for so many years. This fictional character is lucky; he gets the admiration and attention of a few mentors, like a therapist played by Robin Willliams, who see(s) his potential and help him deal with his past and his emotional issues. My situation is very different, because nobody seems to be interested in my talents and odyssee (so far). Ofcourse I don't claim to solve everything, but implementing my holistic plan would have far reaching political, social, moral and ofcourse ecological consequences. But if I can't find allies - well, one could be enough to get the ball rolling - who make a study of my proposals, I will have a huge problem feeling guilty for all those lost lives, and the society/EU/mankind might have missed the chance to take a huge step forward. I've been waiting half a life time to find a calling that gives me the motivation and power to get of the bench. It would be a disaster for me to be right in so many ways and still get no break from anyone.
It would be amazing to get the help of (English) rock and pop royalty, like Sting, Peter Gabriel, Paul McCartney, the Who, David Gilmour, ... One letter or mail could open the doors that stay closed for me. (By which I mean the attention of at least one paper chief editor living close by that seems to not get my mails delivered to her by her staff. Can you imagine the surprise on their faces if at least one, maybe even 12 world class musicians would ask them to give me a chance?) Because I believe in her idealistic side, mainly because of her upbringing. But I'm too nervous to phone her, and too anxious to just barge in. She would be able to get my masterplan evaluated and presented to the politicians, and/or make sure that a public debate would find place. And the time is NOW, with the terrorist attacks that make expensive investments in safety measures in my home country Belgium - still struggling with a government budget deficit of billions and cuts the coming years - necessary, the refugee crisis, the ultralow inflation and the very cheap Euro, our Dutch neighbours who are the presiding country until june and also needing billions for a.o. investing in green energy, care for the elderly and employment, ...
Hoping to have caught your attention and to receive your intermediating help,
Yours Sincerely
Dirk Van Landen
P.S. Ofcourse I don't want to presume to advise the UK government, but this list is what could be done with the 19 billion pounds that I estimate would be raised in your country.
4,8 billion for everyone, by e.g. lowering VAT on domestic fuel to 0 (I don't know how much the revenue is of that), or better: giving all households a voucher of 200 pounds each year to buy an electric bike, train tickets, solar panels, A+++-fridges/washing machines/... 2,2 for approximately 750 000 social jobs of 19 to 26 hours 3 to 4 UN Green Climate Fund 2 social housing 3 to 4 stimulating green electricity and/or saving any form of energy 2 fuel poverty (more than 1 in 10 families; 31 000 winter deaths in England/UK, I just googled, and so many of them would not be killed if they had the money to heat their houses) 1 refugees Turkey
If the refluxing tax revenue from that would be 2 billion, that could be used to subsidise social services taking care of the elderly and handicapped at home. Which ofcourse would save a lot concerning their health problems. And let's hope the Panama Papers are the last straw; the rich and the multinationals should not get the chance to export their excessive wealth to tax havens, because they undermine the whole world with their shameless greed. But the huge sums that can/should be raised thanks to the Polluter Pays Principle can make the difference to create a safer, healthier and just world, for mankind and especially the underpriviliged.
