I do vagueandrandom nervous and excited I don't have another job to go to, but it is when my back is against the wall that I can focus better. only out of work for 3 days in 15 previous years when a company I worked for went into receivership... Feeling confident....despite checking over the notice email I have just sent and seeing that I misspelled my own surname oops

Surely it's better to wait til they fire you isn't it?

Ooh... I think it's better to be in charge of your own destiny and able to create your own reasons for leaving when applying for your next job! And then there are the references.
Btw: Congratulations on your decision!

I did respond to everybody's comments earlier bust instead of 'create post' my PC decided to 'create error message' bleep bleepity bleep bleep!!! sorry I'll try again before computer says no Firstly, waiting until I am fired is not even an option....I am proud of my employment record despite being a bit odd and having a job has enabled me to create a bubble I am comfortable in; staying in a grotty b&b with my pregnant girlfriend nearly 20 years ago, waiting to be housed by Portsmouth council is not a memory I hold dear I have four weeks to secure something, and I believe the staff turnover at my present place of work was around 160 in the 18 months prior to me starting; it has got worse, so if at the end of four weeks I have not got myself sorted, I'm pretty confident that they will be happy for me to stay ( although I won't be humph! ) A couple of exciting opportunities are floating around, but not certain... sort of feel I am in control since making my decision, which has been a considered one, not whimsical as many of my life choices have been Very brave moving city vagueandrandom , not something I would undertake, nostalgia and a bit of an obsession with the past keep me close to my childhood home.. As for friends, they just happen. I don't have 5 million farcebook friends, I probably have less than a dozen real ones but I know which I prefer yay the internet didn't break
