Hi Peeps,
Just wondering if anyone from Scotland fancies setting up a meeting for us Scots. Even if there was only a few people interested we could easily go to a quite eatery/drinking establishment. I can only imagine that this is going to be easier on all of us if we have people to chat to about this that won't just dismiss us out of hand.
Anyone fancies it post here or send me a wee mail and hopeully we can organise something.

Hey MadScot, I'd be delighted to be involved in such a venture. I guess it would be an open invite to adults with ADHD, diagnosed or pending diagnoses. Maybe meet up at some point to brain storm it. I think Shelalovescharly might also be up for it. gb

I'd be up for that as well, although as we're probably quite spread out, meeting on a weekend would probably allow the most people to show up, i suppose. But either way, count me in.

Well Glasgow or Edinburgh would suit me but I would travel further if most people lived in Aberdeen or something

Just found this and yes we need to! I am on the West Coast but don't mind where it is. Let me know or let me know if you want me to help organise something?

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to say good luck with the meeting it's an excellent idea, and would you like us to announce it across the forum and put it on the website to see if even more people would like to come?

That would be great Roland. And Shelalovesharly, why dont you go for it. U seem very keen and we all know what happens if we arent keen. It will get forgot about If you dont fancy organising it then I have no problems in sorting something out. BTW, I have been speaking to a lady who runs a support group in Ayrshire for families. She was very nice and gave me lots of good information. She doesnt do the web but I will ask her if she would like to join us. She told me that she used to run a group for adults as well but everyone kept forgetting to turn up

I'm now turning this into an announcement across all the boards, if you can let me know the date when you've arranged it, I will add the meeting to the calendar and the website. Good Luck and don't hesitate to let us know if we can help in other ways!!

Hi Guys,
How is this going?
Here at AADD-UK (since we're gearing up for a campaign push) we're wondering if the following will help (and apologies ahead if you've already covered these ideas):
1. Go ahead and set date, time, and location even if it's only a few of you because once you've got something set up more people will be interested.
2. You can set up a free website with Google and use that to advertise the meeting more widely. We will add your website as a link to ours.
3. If the website seems like too much to handle, we'll set up one of the free basic Google sites for you and then hand it over for you to manage. But we'll add a link to our website to make it easier for others to find you.
4. Once the website's up, we have a template for an flyer that can be emailed to all the NHS trusts in Scotland to advertise your meeting and giving the website info as a way to contact you.
5. We can provide you with a listing of contact details for NHS Scotland to whom you can send the flyer.
6. Once all this is done, I've got a couple of contacts in Scotland that I could try emailing and see if they have additional ideas.
Hope you don't think this is too pushy, it's just that I want to help.
Meant to add that we can do this for other regional meetings.

Thanks for the help Roland. Im astonished at the help you can offer. I can actually write basic html and could probably manage a website. I once built one myself, although it was very basic. I wont say Im not interested but I worry is that it will just consume my time. Im not sure if I have the stayability for a project like that and its an incredible amount of responsibility. Sorry if I sound reluctant after it was my idea but its a little scary when you have a memory like mine (ours).

Hi Madscot,
Sorry I wasn't clearer about the website. We would set it up for you and because it's one of the free Google sites it would be very basic, no html required. Actually if it's used simply as an online poster for your meeting, then there's no management involved.
Anyway, good luck with the meeting and if you do need our help let us know!

Hi Roland, Having thought his through over night I am willing to do this actually. There isnt a great deal to do for that list you have written, I am more worried about being the responsible person and organising meetings, or forgetting to organise meetings should I say It isnt the time I am worried about its forgetting, but lets not allow worry to stop us doing things right. Anyone know what happened to Shelalovescharly? She has cancelled her membership or been kicked off. Nooooo.... Back to feeling totally alone. Ba***rd! Im okay btw peeps dont worry. Just a tad gutted as Shela was going to help set this up.

Yes, i was going to resign but I decided to change my name and stay on. Is that ok? I have been a bit all over the place and then i was worried about letting 'madscot' down with the conference so I am back. This might sound silly but sometimes when I am on here i am really tired and not thinking straight and I was a bit scared of making a fool of myself?? Also I am not good at making new friends and whilst i initially liked this idea i was a bit freaked out there for a bit by being so dependent on something...also I was worried about the name as it was a 'bit' obvious.....Sometimes I think I am just wierd.. Anyway hope you will accept me back. I deleted the other account, started this one and have been in touch with 'madscot again'..I have been in touch with Gordon too... Hope everyone is doing ok and getting answers to questions that need answered...

Once I read that line I couldnt keep my hands off it

Hi madscott
I am impressed, that looks really good!!
Don't worry about any plagerism - if it gets people interested enough to come and join you all well and good.
Great stuff!

Hi Madscott,
The website looks really good and I particularly like the content although I might be biased ;D
We'll add a link onto our website under "Specialists and Support" and we'll put the meeting date in the calendar.
This is exciting and I really wish all of you the very best for the meeting!

Thanks Roland and Annie, this would never have happened had it not been for you guys though, so pat yourselves on the back too.
Im just going to expect very little from it at first though. Sounds pessimistic but I dont want us to expect too much too soon. Its going to take time isnt it. How long did it take to get your own meetings off the ground and actually start tackling problems/situations?

Hi Guys, I really like the website sites.google.com/site/scottishadhdadultsorg/HomeHave you managed to pick a date yet that suits everybody? It took the Bristol group a while to get off the ground, and in fact for the first couple of months there were only two of us in the group, and we met in cafes, but over time it's grown from there, and I'm really glad that we started it. It really has been helpful and has never been boring
