wow i was beginning to wonder if everyone who took the test would get a highish aspie score! its so interesting to see an nt one! is it just me or is anyone else wondering if they now have aspergers too? ive been doing a lot of research as my son may have it and it fits me too, and the adhd meds although they have helped in some areas have not helped with the social aspect. now im very confuzzeld

It'd need a more sensitive test to establish the difference between ADHD and aspergers since there is considerable overlap in behaviours between the two.
It's quite interesting and informative all the same.
Most of us have fairly similar shaped graphs, which is encouraging, and the exceptions interesting.
A couple more examples of NT or mild ND would be great - anyone else got a helpful partner?

We should all know that the last thing a person with autism who creates all of that data gathering potential and chart analysis is likely to do, is create a test that fails to differentiate................
Also, let's not forget, that Autism spectrum disorder has the following subtypes. Classic autism Aspergers syndrome High functioning autism I suppose Autistic savant should also be noted here. Pdd-nos - a contender that I can easily be diagnosed with.
DSM 5 proposals will just replace with Autism spectrum - range of severity level
I noticed that the webpage where the test is held has a last revision date of 2003...... I wonder if its that old.

I keep wondering how NT brains work when I see them and they are so different from mine!

Kiwi helen this test is pure brilliant and I am seeing patterns in it ;D I wish the author of this test would come along and look at these charts ;D And do you think that NT and ND are set out and people that results are neither here or there could have a ST personality schzio typical?

the nt graphs are so interesting i spoke to my psychologist about the possibility of aspergers and after a screening questionnaire she recommended i go for assessment with her at her other job which is working with people with aspergers, there is so much overlap with adhd i think it will be hard to differentiate between the 2 ive tried to get my bf to do one, but no luck yet

Phil,
I will go and ping Lorali and see if she wants to come for a visit!
I can't remember the details but I think she said there was no correlations with any of the PDs in this test.
I've done some work with BPDs in my professional life and can't imagine what they would look like on the graphs!

Hmmmm....my therapist once told me there were "normal" men out there, and I didn't need to date the quirky ones.
How come I can't find any of them (actually, I like my quirky ones, so perhaps that's why!)

Would the NT's partners' care to share. 1) Which type of employment 2) How long for? 3) How many jobs since hitting work age? 4) Age now. 5) Are you ever "told" or do you see signs that your employer could not live without you. ie are you a superworker lol. (Which would put you above the average person. Also, any other differentiating comments would help. Thank you for any feedback you are able to give.

Hiya, I'm sure Mr Dizzy wouldn't mind me telling you (his actual words were "tell 'em what you like") that he's in his 40s and has worked in mental health (mainly in support-type roles) for about 12 years. He spent a few years as carer to his ex-wife who had psychiatric problems, and prior to that worked in a variety of non/semi-skilled jobs after leaving school at 15 . I think he's a good 'solid' worker, but has been unpopular with a couple of employers as he takes no shit and won't kow-tow to anyone. He's quite opinionated (unlike me of course ;D) and barely ever admits it if he's wrong! For all his NT-ness he's not been without his problems, mainly due to a really shitty upbringing, but this is where I think he differs from me; he's made of tough stuff and has been strong enough to overcome (or bury?? ) all of his bad experiences and still keep functioning "normally". Although it was hardly the Waltons, my upbringing was relatively stable and loving by comparison and yet I was totally "dysfunctional" by the time I reached my teens and throughout my 20s. Had I had his upbringing I can almost guarantee that I would have landed up on a psychiatric ward and quite possibly dead by my 20s. I've stuck the words' normally' and 'dysfunctional’ in inverted commas because I'm aware that they relate to a particular set of values that not everyone chooses to adhere to (and to be honest, I probably wouldn't myself if I didn't have a school-age kid who desperately wants to fit in with his peers) Anyway - don't know what this tells you Andy, but I hope it helps to answer your questions!

Hold up I have been reading up on neuro diversity and neuro diverse people may just not have aspergers syndrome, it could be ADHD, ADD, bipolar, schizophrenia, ect ect! So we will have to find a test on bipolar and schizophrenia lol as ADHD shares a lot of traits with bipolar then a test may say you have bipolar so unless someone can really read and make sense of the charts we are at a loss to whether this spiders web of controversy is to be believed? Some one needs to interpret the charts properly! I do believe in NT and ND but as there is a lot of spectrum disorders in the mix my logic is telling me you could have anything and be anywhere's on that chart

dont you think we should keep things in perspective though phil. any or all of these online tests clearly state that they dont replace professional diagnosis and should never be taken as such
while i find them interesting and good indicators on our similarities/differences, i would think very carefully about taking the results as anything more than that.... for me these things are about self awareness and raising discussion points not online diagnosis............

I have friends with both schizophrenia and bipolar I could ask them to have a go at the test but they may get paranoid too! And I don't want to spend the week explaining myself the why's! :S

Q) What diagnoses do you have snickerz? These charts show a good spread across a range of very neurotypical to more centralised (me) and aspie/autistic with some spikes. We need more neurotypicals.
