I awoke this morning and there was NOTHING to do in my kitchen. Feel quite disorientated by it, but very pleased.

On verge of a warning at work (legit not my fault) ended up getting a promotion in another department. Escaped crap office, ended up same grade as my managers, pay went up.
W00t.

found my beloved fresh organic peppermint plant suddenly wizened and sickly..... sticky things all over all the kitchen herbs (which i was growing in the sitting room cos it's south facting) became an instant expert on whitefly, found a recipe for an ecological insecticide and nuked the life out of the buggers. now have a great sense of achievement for the day! (gotta count these small successes or there would be nowt to count)

That's really positive from my perspective

Got 10+ friends to come to my BBQ party on Saturday. Pretty good as this time last year I had hardly any friends to celebrate my birthday with :-) one of my new friends can get my band gigs in several cities as well! :-D

Today I *picked blackberries from the back garden - mindfully! *didn't panic when found I'd added twice as much sugar as I was sposed to *stopped, weighed and added frozen blueberries - weighed! i own scales now *stopped again, thought, decided to cook half of it today and see how I got on (instead of panicking) * made 2.5 jars of blackberry & blueberry jam - real, proper, set jam i simply have to count these small victories. life is made up of these little moments, and they matter.

Jam Part 2 Considering I woke up not feeling motivated to do anything at all and couldn't imagine doing anything for a second time. But somehow I got there, learnt from yesterday and did better today, and it was easier the second time. I begin to understand how people might do something again and again and get good at it, rather than what I normally do which is doing it once to have a go and then wanting to move on cos i've tried that and it's not shiny any more. Jam is no longer a mystery. I have 4.5 jars/1.3 kg - and it tastes good too

Ok a small triumph. I'm new here so I am starting with a positive! I have today managed to actually do an important task at work within 5 minutes of it being given to me instead of procrastinating and forgetting about it while I wafted about looking at something totally unrelated but far more interesting or putting it into the Bermuda Triangle of my 'To Do' pile. Hooray for that!

Finished an application form for a work placement. It was such a long form I very nearly gave up. Took me two days but I finished before the deadline!
I finally remembered to buy tea and now have an amazing hot cup in front of me.

Came out of Overwhelmed /Down Mode by switching to practical rather than planning/paperwork, and: * shopped for ingredients to make chutneys for children's charity Christmas stall * made Chutney #1 - Roast Garlic & Apple - 2.2 kg/9 jars now cooling in kitchen, for lid- and label- making another day * had mother over for tea, first time in 5 months; Successful ie relaxed and happy visit (!) * played recorder that's a lot of positives for one day! now need to wind down for early night and try for a gently positive day tomorrow... only that's a day with a meeting in it

felt Very Anxious about going out today, let alone to a meeting with a group of people who were mostly unknown to me. made myself go and it was mostly fine, despite my anxious freak out/struggle to deal with rather challenging taxi driver on the way in. i was on time, took low key part, my presence was appreciated, got home ok through friday rush hour traffic etc etc. Far More Excitingly, came across a bag of knitting at lunchtime: I'd persuaded my mother to teach me when i gave up smoking a couple of years ago, so i had something to fiddle with while i got used to not smoking... Knitted a couple of squares of cushion cover in Feb 2013 and then left it under a table.... Today I reminded myself how to cast on and knit, then took knitting with me. Knitted throughout meeting and on the way home. Had far fewer tics and spasms and was able to pay attention and keep calm. Sense of achievement, and I have 10cm of a cushion cover to show for my afternoon

My bedroom/ study is completely tidy, clean and organised. I can't quite believe it! It now has the feel of a proper grown ups room about it! I wouldn't like to say how many bags of rubbish I've had to throw out, or how many bags have gone to charity. It's taken blood, sweat and nearly tears as I've faced the level of chaos and disorganisation I was in. Notes on bits of paper from all over the place on all different things are now either filed, grouped together, or written up properly and saved on my computer. Even my computer is organised, de-cluttered and de-junked....the relief...and satisfaction that I've actually stuck at it over a few months and completed it! I think I deserve an honorary degree!

Finally managed to wrap all bar three presents! I usually just wrap two and give up for the day. Just wrapped about 8 in one go! Oh, and except the wine bottles... I wrapped two bottles and really cba yo wrap the other three, but in my defense they're really awkward to wrap and I'm going to just get some of those special bags for them instead *feels christmassy*

At 24 things seem to be working out at work! Been employed for just over 2 years (longest I've ever managed to hang onto a job, although it's been very close at times). Been in full time employment since July '14. (Never had a full time job before. Willing to work, but no one wanted me ) In May/June I will finish my NVQ2 in Health and Social Care - Specialising in Dementia. I've just completed a First Aid course, valid for 3 years. Today I was offered a promotion. On Saturday night I will start my job as a Senior Care Assistant. I've never had a promotion! I've barely managed to remain employed! With the extra squids I'll have, maybe I could hire a housekeeper to come and fix some of my home life too lol.

Spent the entirety of today (12hrs) cleaning and tidying my room!! I didn't know where to begin. I knew I had to remove pretty much all the furniture out to give it the deep clean i intended. So it was a struggle knowing what item to actually start with! But bf helped with that bit and when I got going I hyperfocus on it. Getting deviated away from tasks was minimal (mainly happened when I had to catch a spider and throw it out... I get fascinated with all things creepy crawley and can sometimes waste hours taking pics of it, looking it up, studying it for a while!) and i was getting ready to give up part way through. But i forced myself to carry on which helped me quickly forget those feelings through returning to hyperfocus! Feels good to now relax in a freshly cleaned and rearranged room!! it's like having something new and shiney!

I logged into these forums straight away without forgetting my password for the first time! It's only taken half a year!
I've also managed to not lose all my lecture notes whilst waiting for my ADHD-friendly folders to arrive in the post! (Can only find ringbinders in the shops but that requires carrying around a hole punch and not losing it, or remembering to file things away at the end of the day - not going to happen!)
