Wow, now that is very professional from a "layperson". Shame the professional professional was a bit of a lay-z-person.
Was there any further outcome to this?

Just dropping in to catch up on the up's and down's and see who is around. I was just reading a long article published by Professor Russell Barkley, regarding CDD concentration deficit disorder, formally named SCT Sluggish cognitive tempo. Not going to read it all obviously... I won't hotlink the pdf, just the page containing factsheets. www.russellbarkley.org/factsheets/I am still floating around in space, no direction

Nooooooo, don't "mean" to watch them. Just click the button and hover through the youtube preview and look at the pretty charts and explanations around them.

Bristol AADD workshop for Healthcare professionals speech published to the youtube channel Dec 2012.
I was checking out the Royal college of psychiatrists website and found these videos which they posted on youtube. The youtube channel has 36 videos in total, not all about ADD obviously.
I've managed to watch about 30 skiminutes. Prof. David Nutt was sacked by the government for saying that cannabis is not as bad as its press image, a few years back. I'm inclined to agree with him, not that I've ever actually smoked it.
I didn't know that he'd been dealing with adult add for 20 years.
The 1st video and presumable 2nd answer a few questions that professionals drag their heels over sometimes.
1st Prof David Nutt 2nd vid - Prof David Asherson.

Quote I was thinking only yesterday, 'I wish someone would come and pick me off this chair and put me to bed'. And my bed's about 3 metres away from said chair! It's hardly difficult is it?! Omg, you all sound so similar. I didn't realise it was so difficult for everyone. You need a bed incentive lol

Floordrobes (planetdave) tardis cupboards(cavity behind backboard permitting as the board buckles from jamming stuff in ) Yep, clutter. does my head in. my room represents my mind, cluttered, witha artefacts from yesteryear, stuff lying around, needing cleansing, but can't be arsed.

Well, 3 weeks ago went to doc about social anxiety, didn't really mention that specifically before. Got a therapy number which I phoned yesterday in a blaze of intention. I've been doing weight training and situps for 4 weeks, which makes a hell of a difference especially when you can do it whilst off sick and leave the barbell dumbells on your bed as a reminder. As the long term regulars here will remember, I did not get an adhd diagnosis in april 2010 from the maudsley, but the psych recommended assessment and treatment for anxiety, mood disorders (of which dysthymia is one) and autistic spectrum disorder. Well, obviously I've not had the energy/enthusiasm to deal with that. I really believe now that the dysthymia label really applies to me. I'm still not sure which is the top line issue. Autism > add symptoms +anxiety + everything else lol dysthymia > add symptoms + anxiety + everything else Anxiety/social phobia (no known reason for irrational fear of society/closeness) > add symptoms + everything else I'm no tw waiting for a form to get a level of therapy related to me. There are no meds that I am on currently. I wonder if truly that my entire crop of feelings since age 5, has been dopamine related. This article always makes me think hmmmmm gimme that dopamine kick. Check the symptoms and imagine a point somewhere between. www.reuniting.info/science/articles/acute_dopamine_depletion_causes_psychological_distressAnyway, so I will talk to these therapists about my surety of having dysthymia (chronic depression) and see what can be done although I'm not confident about CBT for this, I feel it is persistently neurochemically driven. Oh, well, bring on round 2 eh? All I know if, I feel bloody sick of the entire situation, not having made any ground due to my apathy/avoidance. I need to make progress for once Hello to all

pffffttttt, the voting speaks volumes. Maybe we prefer night owlism due to the fact that there is a lot less noise/distraction to hook onto and we can flow a little better.

Cd, that sounds like one of my "large" posts from 2009, but you condensed it to only 5 lines (shakes fist in admiration) I was hitting the ADD/autism/borderline, dysthymia, anxiety, avoidance blend of things.

What is this accursed word - tidying? The mere suggestion that floordrobes, tardis cupboards, tarddrawers etc should be replaced by a real and not superficial/smoke and mirrors system, is ludicrous, "normal"-lystic and should be punishable by much procrastination, huffiness, outbursts and obtuse debate. Thank you for not paying attention

Wow, avoidance issues. I actuallly avoid people I know, in shops and things, if I can. It's my first instinct, but I'm not sure why I need to do it.
The closer they are emotionally, the more to avoid them.
Weird shit, totally. I need to pursue my autism consultation, but can't be bothered. Should have done it before the world collapsed and got all Austerititous.
Autistic, avoidant or both? meh
