I would have joined chat last night but I fell asleep as usual. Not been good times blah blah. HAving a read of the forum suggests the usual torture of "adhd educated psychiatrists" that aren't and all sorts of you grow out of it once you become an adult.......hmmmm, well I'm not a fooking adult lol.

well, read the details fully and mark off the things that you feel indicate hypokalemia. I think you must have all markers including the carbohydrate meal isssue.
Also, take note of oooooohshinys comment.
I can't really think any more at this time lol, so tread carefully......you wouldn't want your doc to think you're a crazyass mofo!

Phil, Don't know about cramps much. There are times when I 've yawned and felt a sensation of something swelling between jawbone and throat.... If I don't stretch it out quickly by tilting head back and sort of flexing the area, it will create a gland swelling and discomfort which can be felt with thumb. It's acutely discomforting, but fades within a few minutes. twitches, isn't this part of epilsepsy or similar or is it a nerve trap issue? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myoclonus you must at least have read wiki?

That corn feed comment lodged in my eye.
What's the benefit/cost ratio compared to cheapest clumping clay cat litter or similar stuff. What's your analysis? Congrats on the "cleaning" by the way....

I'm only doing a half arsed effort when I remember, as unless I'm locked onto a subject matter, I'm just a typical distracted schoolkid trying to avoid the main priorities in life until bang, in my face.
If lidocaine (aka xylocaine) has "worked" at least once, then you should apparently, not have HSO. I say apparently because there is much to read on the subject. However, hypokalemia itself is a low potassium status so that could possibly be influenced. It's too deep a subject for me to pursue. You might understand it better than me...

Oh, not what I thought. Simple mechanics there. Far simple that what I expected, except for your history, if you get my drift... Why are you on amitryptaline btw? I think your sensory issues can also overdrive your stress hormone levels.. Cushings is a syndrome of extreme stress response or extreme cortisol (think it's also known as hypercortisolism) and Addisons is an adrenal gland crisis of extremely low cortisol etc, leading to addisonian crisis or caused by depriving an adrenally compromised patient of their hydrocortisone medication etc.
Anyway, I'll study more when I get my study cap on and my history isn't showing great things about that. Maybe tomorrow.

Jeez, I keep forgetting what I really am like.
I was in the southend hospital cafe costa, which is the hub for all outpatient visits etc. (nice way to take lots of money from guilt trips or such)
When I'm sitting down and there are plenty of strangers around, I get sort of nervous or stimulated or activiated whatever lol.
I find myself knee bobbing, tapping hands on tables. Feeling even more tense like I need to run away or hide or react. Feel on the verge of head exploding. I bought a bottle of water and was sort of making it dance on the table by holding the top and sort of spinning it on two of four wheels if you know what I mean.
Nerve wracking it is. If people were watching me directly, that would be really terrible.
As an aside, I can sit still at home if at least one hand or limb is engaged with something........ like computing eating etc.

Hello Ryan, your overall endocrine complexities need to be addressed along with your overall wellbeing. You need a true unbiased advocate who is able to convey your issues, to the relevant people. You can not deal with this yourself. Find an impartial person. Ask those around you if they can help you out. Also there should be some on here reading this who understand far more about advocacy services than I do and maybe offer some suggestions. I'm pretty good with standard hormone issues but your complexity is beyond my explanations and I don't want to cloud the complexity. EDIT - ryan , can you tell me which medications you are on at the moment please? Ps, but I might feel like hunting that doctor down. grrrrrrrrr

xylocaine/lidocaine/lignocaine - same active and can be reduced/blocked by calcium channel disorder If I remember my posted documents above, correctly
If you called the lidocaine sensitivity a spectrum, you might have 10 different levels of response to it, from none at all to average to hyper response. Doc might not have a clue, nor even want to deal with it, but any anaesthetist should understand..

There might be a sweet spot for medications but remember that a percentage (unknown) of medications in the past and some now were/are never designed for their actual current purposes, where the brain is concerned. I think that you may need 2 or 3 types of medication and possibly extra nutrients, such as checking particularly your levels of the water soluble b vitamin group. B vitamins, except b12 are constantly lost due to water solubility. Also vit c... No one really knows the subtle effects of drugs/nutrients, only the major effects.
You may never get the results you hope for, but if you get a 50% reduction of symptoms, you are doing better than before.
AS for the future, drugs can be engineered to fit your profile better as some may have ion channel disease/disorders or other genetic differences that affect your response to drugs.
If you smoke or take alcohol with your medications, then you are already changing the end results...

I'll be blunt about this: I've had a rather disturbing experiencing with very large external hemmoroids aka perianal haematomas. At hospital, I was prescribed 5% lidocaine ointment for dulling pain Lidocaine doesn't seem to work for me. Trouble is lidocaine is a calcium channel method mode of action and read below to understand why they may not be working... Apparently, this can point towards a sign of being hypokalemic, something which I've only skimmed passed in the past. symptoms of hypokalemia... [/size] The official link to the published document jcn.sagepub.com/content/22/12/1408 Someone already grabbed the full report... www.addforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70434Interesting one below...from a person who was untreated then treated with drastic differences. potsgrrl.blogspot.com/2011/07/my-lidocaine-mystery-solved-its.htmlIt all begs the question.....What happens if someone's medications/titration is affected by this (any medication that is calcium or potassium or sodium channel related? The failure of the drug will be incorrectly interpreted by those who are unaware, which no doubt, will be many. calcium, sodium and potassium Ion channelopathies www.jci.org/articles/view/26011/pdfwww.pprl.org/fileserv/Physiologic%20Principles%20Underlying%20Ion%20Channelopathies.pdfThere are examples of calcium, sodium and potassium channel blockers on wikipedia. Well that's the end of my 2 hour research mission, zzzzzzzzzzzzzz For those tempted to, I'll advise against reckless supplementation of potassium, sodium or calcium... I know of someone who tried the potassium and was suffering badly due to imbalances of his body etc..not good...

Redneck, its because most of us skim text and manage to bluff our way into looking like we read more than 20% of it.
I don't know really...
Sometimes, too much text tends to dilute the message.
