oh my goodness... routes and avoiding traffic... i go in some odd directions sometimes due to those kinds of decisions. Lets not mention giving directions to people in the street, or taxi drivers, or even friends taking me somewhere.... oops we were supposed to turn back there sorry!

you know what I was thinking that might happen - I meant to point out the odd start, but I forgot (SOORYYY) I got all exicted about it - despite the mention it didn't really go into it too much after that in the end.

BBC iplayer link - 8:20 ADHD brought up.A few colleagues mentioned they heard a little about Adult ADHD listening to Lee Mack being interviewed on BBC R4 Desert Island discs. One of them kindly sent me the link so I thought I'd post it here before it slipped my mind. fidning it slightly interesting because it's been suggested to him that he has ADHD, but hasn't been diagnosed. the interesting thing to me is some of the descriptions that followed about his life amused me in the ADHD sense slightly off the ADHD mark but mildly interesting

I have this problem too... dance around answers, ideas and thoughts and end up convincing myself I don't know when I do...
end result?
-> because it's easier I say "I don't know" a lot.
My Boss hates this and so now I have to try not to say "I don't know"
so he now has to put up with the nonsense I spout whilst concluding random thoughts and end up talking about something entirely different.

lol... I break flat pack kits too... am a little bit careless... have lots of pots of PVA glue in pretty much every "man box" that exists in my house and shed... still can't find them.
Do you blame the furniture for breaking itself too? (I get told off for blaming 'things' when I broke them).

Reading this thread is yet another scary experience... going through the GP referral motions myself currently... Seeing almost a mirror image of me in my "middle" daughter Millie... shy, innatentive, distractible - homework simply doesn't happen if even the slightest thing is going on around her. Problem is we don't have anywhere she can go in the house, where there is no distractions. The only real option is to have homework time where everything stops and the girls do their homework at the dining table... but they end up fighting over space, or pencils or table cloth movement... I think they argued about breathing too loudly once! so it's a struggle to say the least. I do like the reward idea - especially little bits for little achievements this will probably help nicely so going to give it a try. My Wife is now coming round to the idea that, at least one of our children thinks / processes things differently to her - it's a struggle to get her to give the girls a break sometimes as it frustrates her terribly that they can't "just do it". (according to mother-in-law she did homework before she'd been given it never mind before it was due!) On the other hand I recall spending a whole day writing a page long report that would have taken 30 minutes had I had any focus at all... instead of playing football that day I finished up with a badly written piece of homework, a pile of random graffiti sketches and a bedroom desk covered in odd looking acid house faces pulling random expressions. It's nice to see we aren't the only people struggling to get the girlies to get on with it

Lol how strange - I was just thinking the exact same thing a day or so ago.... thought I was being paranoid.
So it's not just me who loses every ounce of motivation as soon as the weather changes! yahooo... almost feel better!

I can very much relate to this... uncanny how similar it must be for the description to be so tight fitting... I get it a lot these days - feels like a little dark cave that you cant see into is collapsing in on itself and you're fighting to push against it and let some light in to see what the problem is so you can fix it and a million things flash round at the same time and with all the mental effort it simply just ACHES. glad it's not just me.

when you book an appointment with your GP a week ahead to discuss ADHD and symptoms to find out about referral... get excited that you might be heading towards answers... then double check appt time before leaving because you dont want to be too early... only to find it was half an hour ago! ( ho hum.

I cant believe how many people go through the same routine as me - every night I have devil on one shoulder "stay up" and angel on the other "go to bed" - and thinking "just one more hour... that gives me 3.5 hours sleep... unless I dont actually fall asleep??" the night's ive spent refreshing facebook or "sharing" youtube clips going on random Google adventures... or simply cycling through the TV channels in the hope something vaguely interesting arrives. became a baseball fanatic for a week then switched it for basketball, then decided i work best when no-ones around... then crashed and went through a period of depression where I got told... "you really need to sleep more" when it was established that I probably hadn't slept in my own bed for a good six months, without any real reason or explanation for it. One other thing... I ALWAYS remember that I forgot to fill the dishwasher when I actually force myself to go to bed... then when I go to fill it, I remember that I also forgot to empty it too... Then setting multiple alarms to wake up, actually getting into bed, then remembering you forgot to brush your teeth, then brushing them... Then lying there thinking to myself... i'm sure there's something else I've forgotten? ? ? ?
