Although i have no real grasp of the whole time thing i obsessively have to know the right time and have to check frequently....so i wear a solar powered, radio controlled, very hard to break watch (which also looks cool)
p.s the slideshow is excellent,i have bookmarked it for when people ask me "what's it like having adhd then?"

Oh yeah,i forgot,post it notes!
I have a wall planner which is good, and a filofax type of thingy which is also good.....but you have to go look for them.
I ambush myself with post it notes, leaving them in places where i can't miss them, stuck to my car keys,or phone,or the tv screen, etc

There's a man in my neighborhood who is in the Guinness Book of Records for having forty three concussions; he lives very close actually, just a stone's throw away…

I find a big website stuffed on to a small screen a bit overwhelming as well, and the android forum apps always seem slow and uncooperative...
...so i only use my phone for checking emails (and phone stuff),and any other internet gubbins can wait until i'm in front of my desktop!

Sometimes i make myself cringe...and giggle...and then cringe some more...and,well,you get the idea. Decided to start sanding the doorframes in the hall today,so i got out my belt sander, plugged it in,and got stuck into it. I thought i was doing a fantastic job.... until my wife pointed out that maybe i should've put sheets over some stuff,or shut a door or two,or even attached the dust collecting bag onto the belt sander It looked like a blizzard had swept through the ground floor of my house! both of my dogs had to be bathed and brushed! EVERYTHING in the kitchen had to be wiped off...and i mean everything, stuff on the worktop,on shelves, the clean dishes on the drainer, all the clean clothes on the airer had to go back through the wash! About an hour of sanding, and i've only just now finished 3-ish hours of cleaning up the mess i made. What's that saying about "proper preparation...etc"? I am a menace.

I found the chapter on the "therapeutic window" interesting...and useful (still been trying to get the dex dosing right, the approach in that chapter has helped me pretty much nail it )

Last year we (me,wife, and 13 year old lad) were sat in the deputy headmaster's office of the lads school to discuss how his education could move forward....
Deputy Headmaster leads in with "listen...i'm from Yorkshire and i think ADHD is rubbish!"
Now,my father and grandfather are/were both born and bred yorkshiremen, and i spent a good part of my formative years in North Yorkshire.
Also
I have ADHD,two of my boys are diagnosed with it,and my oldest lad almost certainly has it as well.(and, anecdotally,it would appear my grandfather may have as well)
I could've reacted better i s'pose, and my wife did a great job of bundling me out of the office before i made things worse...and needless to say,my boy does not attend that school anymore...and the deputy moron was duly reported to the board of governors.

What you need is a retractable one. Yep,i have two of those.I regularly break them by trying to stretch them to measure stuff just a lil' bit too long. I'm amazed at how petty i can be with things like this, there is a multitude of seemingly innocuous things that drive me batty.... i feel i may be overcompensating for my inherent lack of organisational skills and general untidiness. ....still hate that tape measure though!

Tape measures,y'know the cloth type ones. Every time the one in our house gets used i HAVE to roll it up neatly,i cannot bear to see it left unrolled! I am sure my family use it and leave it out just to bug me If left it becomes a huge deal and dominates my thoughts completely until i roll it up! I hate the bloody thing! I need to by a 12ft wooden ruler

My head's like a tumble dryer mostly.Everything tumbling around and things pop into focus for a moment and then are smothered by the next notion/idea/thought that surfaces...and so on...and so on.

Grim - can i ask you, was it completely rubbish before then complete difference at 20 , or did 15 make a bit of an improvement but 20 properly? Yes you can ask... Yes,15mg was a bit of an improvement...and then 20mg was a revelation,i could not believe the difference the extra 5mg made.

Thanks for your info Grim - can I ask you whether you then increased to more than 20 to see if there was a better effect even after things seemed to be working? After the 20mg i then went onto 72mg and then 90mg Concerta daily. ...which was ok for a few months but then it all went a bit strange and i am now on 2 x 10mg Dexamfetamine daily, which for now is working ok for me.

Grim - did you increase then and start to feel better? Yup,i got to 20mg x 3 daily before everything seemed to clear up and start working.

i hear you.
Low (starting) doses of MPH made me feel very similar. It's a bit like all the thoughts charging around the brain have all scuttled off and hidden in the corners and under things, and it's an almost impossible effort to find even one.
Well that's how it affected me.
...a larger dose might work better,i hope it improves for you.

Do you have anything you've thought about getting round too (that is fun), from your arm chair? well...sort of My most sedentary pastime is lockpicking, which is ideal for my current "predicament",i can sit with a couple of locks beside me on the sofa and tinker away I also have several leathercraft and"custom cutlery" projects waiting to be started that i could sit down and work on...but i haven't finished kitting out my workshop and all my tools and materials are still packed and stacked (we only moved house 10 weeks ago) p.s.I'm not that good at sitting down generally.I tend to wander around when doing most things, including watching telly and eating....which my family find amusing and hugely irritating by turns.
